I can see this going utterly wrong Maybe but is sounds a lot more coherent that the HB Universe idea that we're getting a year or so's time.

I'm still here for it. The years going by are not affecting the proliferation of new projects and titles. I'm glad I decided to love such a strong show

WTF?! Never had a Tv series or animated film without Shaggy and scooby but ok. What orgin? Us scooby fans already know about everyone's past. They even knew each other as kids, only babies if I remember. Skipping, if Shaggy and scooby ( the main character of the series) isn't in it, yah ok.
Who picked this idea out of a hat for a film? You want other characters to get solo films fine, at least let it make sense LOL.

well we;ve focused on scooby and shaggy a ton, giving Daphne and Velma some screen time to build on their characters would be interesting, if it was animated live action scooby stuff has never done anything for me.

I'd rather have a movie about Daphne and Velma than the guys'. My feminist soul would be aching otherwise. Lol. Anyhow complaining about new origins for the gang is useless. We've had so many different origins in all the iterations. Its a cliche when you get a show running for all those years. Im very curious how it will turn out to be but I have to say that Im not impressed at all by the list of movies the Tisdale sister have produced. They look way too cheesy and lifetime-y for me. An animated movie would have been waaaaaay better. Well Im still hoping for it. Daphne+Velma is a couple I would like to see getting its screen time for the years to come.

"Daphne has just transferred to Velma’s school, Ridge Valley High, an incredible tech-savvy institute with all the latest gadgets provided by the school’s benefactor, tech billionaire Tobias Bloom. And while competition is fierce among the students for a coveted internship at Bloom Innovative, Daphne and Velma dig beyond all the gadgets and tech to investigate what is causing some of the brightest students in school to disappear — only to emerge again in a zombie-fied state." What is this Deja Vu I am feeling?

I'm personally very excited about this new film. It should be interesting to see a more feminist-focused film that shows the origins of Daphne and Velma, and maybe gives us some more insight on the characters. I really hope people end up giving it a chance and don't just immediately judge it before it even comes out. I've already seen quite a few criticisms of it from people who think it's going to be this hyper-feminist mess, despite the only real evidence of this is that the studio has a history of making movies which include a strong, empowered female lead. I don't want to see a super radically extreme feminist "men are pigs! burn your bra!" film either, but I wish people's minds wouldn't immediately turn to criticism and bashing before the film has even come out. Here's hoping for an interesting movie which maybe shows the characters in a more central, prominent way than we've seen them before!

Feminism isn't misandry.

That's exactly my point. A lot of the initial reactions I've seen to the film (not on this site, but others) are that it's going to try to "convert kids into man-hating 'feminists'" and be a really preachy political statement about how women are superior to men, which isn't even close to what the actual definition of what feminism is. According to Dictionary.com, the definition of feminism is "the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men." Nothing in the definition states anything about hating men, or even being in any way superior to them. Far too many people these days mistake anything feminist for this super preachy, man-hating group of people, which is actually closer to the definition of misandry and/or hyperradical feminism (which there are some "feminists" who feel that all men actively oppress women, though IMO they aren't true feminists). Sorry for the mini-rant there, but it really frustrates me how people are already bashing the movie based on their own warped definitions of what a 'feminist' is. Hopefully that clarifies my original post and apologies if what I previously said was unclear.

Well, I've made up my mind and I think that some good old fashioned Daphne and Velma friendshipping is just what I need after Scooby Apocalypse.
