....Basically they complete each other. Kind of like the dynamic between Spider-man and Mary Jane. Spidey can be VERY uptight but being around fun-loving partygirl MJ has a stabilizing influence on him. So what we want is a Shaggy and Velma version of 'Amazing Spider-Man Renew Your Vows'? I've never read that arc. I just meant that they can work because they complete each other. I just used Spidey and Mary Jane as an example.

To be honest, Shaggy and Scooby seems like a old married couple sometimes. Not only in mystery incorporated but in every series. So i didn't find the idea so impossible. It was new, for sure, but not impossible. I think Shaggy and Velma are incompatible even without Scooby. They are too much different and are better as good friends. Without Scooby, their couple might have lasted a little longer but i don't think it would have worked. I think Shaggy is capable of real romantic feelings, but in my opinion Velma is not so much is type of girl. I think he might have dated with her just to have a girlfriend. There have been other girls he seemed much more interrested than Velma (the alien in the Scooby-Doo and the Alien invaders, for exemple) and even Daphne, they have kissed in season 2 and thought it was an illusion he seemed to have enjoyed it much more than when he kissed Velma. Their relationship was a courageous idea from the writters, it bring new things to both characters, but it showed they were incompatible. Shaggy and Velma are fully compatible because their personalities while different both include traits the other desperately needs to be influenced by. Shaggy needs Velma's logic skills to rub off on him and I'll bet Velma was even more uptight before meeting Shaggy. Shaggy's needs her brain and she needs his laidback personality. To be compatible you don't need to have personality as your partner. You both just need to have a personality that compliments and augments their own with traits they themselves don't have as strongly. Basically they complete each other. Kind of like the dynamic between Spider-man and Mary Jane. Spidey can be VERY uptight but being around fun-loving partygirl MJ has a stabilizing influence on him.

I'm actually on Velma's side for mystery inc's version. She should have dumped Shaggy not the other way around. If he can't commit to making their relationship work, she's better off without him.

I would have bet on her being a mystery writer not a bookseller.

People always point to this episode to demonstrate that the guy in the monster suit still goes to jail even if he didn't commit any crimes (simply for dressing up as a monster). Actually the culprit in this episode committed many crimes: destruction of private property, terrorism, attempted murder, assault and battery, breaking and entering and real estate fraud.

Still waiting for a funky phantom Crossover. Supernatural is a dark serious horror series. Scooby-Doo is a mystery/comedy in the same vein as Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. the three genres just don;t mix well.

Daphne is 16. She's much too young for either of the Winchesters.

I'd rather Scrappy not return. Yes, he kept the franchise alive in the 80's, I'm aware. I'd say he has served his purpose then. The franchise is alive and doing just fine without him. Without getting into his more annoying tendencies, there's just no role for Scrappy in the gang. He can't be a trap builder or a leader, that's Fred's role. He can't be a super smart investigator, that's Velma's role. He can't be normal, provide wealth, or be inexplicably danger prone, that's all Daphne. Bringing back Scrappy will inevitably lead to less screen time and less importance for Fred, Velma, and/or Daphne. They've done it before. He also can't be the comic relief because that's Shaggy and Scooby's role.

Grey sounds nothing like Granny. She has no range. Every character she does sounds exactly the same.

I'd still like to see one where Shaggy is the culprit.
