Still waiting for a funky phantom Crossover. Supernatural is a dark serious horror series. Scooby-Doo is a mystery/comedy in the same vein as Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. the three genres just don;t mix well.

Not really. I've been watching Supernatural since the beginning and it has had plenty of episodes focusing on comedy instead serious horror. In fact, I'd say the show stopped being horror after season 3 and moved more into the action/fantasy genre.

I've never watched Supernatural, and there's way too much for me to catch up on now, I'll watch the episode I just hope I won't be missing out on too much of the back element on the Supernatural side for me to enjoy it.

Maybe some old news to you but to me. A summary of things from SPN Hunters, a Supernatural fansite (highlighting the Scooby related only):

I cannot explain how much this speaks to my interests. Best form of world's colliding! Americana overload!

I suppose Sarah Michelle Gellar won't be reprising her role as Daphne. She might be a bit long in the tooth to convincingly play a twentysomething mystery-solving ingenue... also, she may be leery of returning to TV after her show on CBS with Robin Williams tanked spectacularly.

Maybe for a more serious series they might use SMG, Prinze and Cardinelli (while keeping Frank present as Scooby and of course Lillard as Shaggy) kind of like how CN's older audiences programming used the live action cast. It would be better off.
