That's rather uncalled for. So are your complaints everytime someone tries tp be positive but it’s a free world so I just replied kindly with my own thoughts Opinions are one thing, ad hominems are another.

...Don’t just throw around the indicative age just because you’re bitter. Also, there’s 52 years worth of Scooby-Doo, go and rewatch that if you’re so sad... That's rather uncalled for.

SCP is a gigantic fanfiction universe with a premise similar to Men in Black. This file made me smile: scp.karagory.com/scp-k9-j-exA quote from it: "Incident K9-J-D: Agent Mu 4-1 was able to convince Agents Mu 4-4 and 4-5 to act as "bait" utilizing [REDACTED]. Agent Mu 4-1 reportedly had to give them two [REDACTED] each." They consider Scooby Snacks supernatural and too powerful to list in the report. Haha. Toyed with an SCP bit of Scooby Fan Fiction in the past, never brought it together into a story.

People doubting this for legitimate reasons should look at the Harley Quinn show. Whilst I doubt this is as R-rated, I think it has people that’ll keep some of the charm of the franchise in it. "...some of the charm..." which doesn't really mean much as until people get eyes on an episode we don't know which bits they've deemed to keep. But Harley had had a huge range of roles over the years, from comedy villain side-kick, recovering abusive relationship victim all the way through to comedy hero paring with Power Girl, and that's before the HQ show was even penned. Whatever happened in the HQ show could have fitted into any one of her past incarnations, i.e. she's still Harley (and to blow that particular dog-whistle, she's still the same colour). But with Velma & Co, there's a lot less variability, and where there is that hasn't always been well received by the fandom. Plus just because one group as done it ok, doesn't mean this one will. It's a bit like climbing, for safety you move one thing at a time, the concern is that they are moving so many things that what we'll get is a series of flailing limbs followed by a splat as it ends after one season. The fandom gets another failed attempt to expand the franchise while the 'it failed because it's woke' crowd will put another notch in their belt irrespective of the reasons for its failure. It would be good if they release more, I recall all the pre-release Scooby Apocalypse, artwork, outlines, histories... all in enought time that you knew what you were getting into when issue #1 dropped. As here, less secrecy would really help, tell us more and show more. As always, I am so ready to be proved wrong with this show and for it to be both a commercial success but also a meaningful addition to the franchise.

...She added that the social media debate encouraged her to “be careful” when taking on the beloved character... To be fair, that's more than WB have been with a couple of their takes on the characters.

Conside me untriggered, looks good. I do have reservations but they're nothing to do with her being South Asian.

From Bleeding Cool - How Much??? The Lake Como Comic Art Festival Auction has some one of a kind art pieces for auction. One piece was our favourite bespectacled sleuth drawn by Arthur Adams which went for just over $1300 (US).

As HBO Max is not available where I live so I can't. The description I've read means it falls in the category of 'nope' for me, that kind of show just does not appeal to me. But as for your argument, Tony Cervone gave us the epic Camp Scare, he also gave us the character trainwreck that was SD:MI. Lol the trainwreck that's been praised by most of the Scooby community and people outside of it... but yeah I agree that a good showrunner doesn't always need to nail a show, but Im just hyping us up a lil more since some of you are so against this without even knowing plot, characters, designs nor ANYTHING about this show. sike In terms of the over-arching story, the depth of the plot, the internal consistancy, the supporting cast, the animation, the writing... SD:MI is some of the best Scooby out there. But the gangs' characters and especially their interactiosn were just a complete train-wreck, especially in the first season. I would say there is a lot of skepticism around this, given that when people have fiddled with their characters the results have been more miss than hit IMO. Plus without knowing much about it there is also little to hype.

Do yourself a favor and watch “The Sex Lives of College Girls”. New Mindy Kaling and Charlie Grandy’s HBO Max production (both involved in Velma). It is a charmingly wholesome yet hilarious comedy with the best humor I’ve seen in a show and the most lovable characters ever. Also her “Never Have I Ever” show won Comedy of the Year at the People’s Choice Awards. I hope this makes you guys more hopeful and willing to give Velma a try. Please watch this show and check how fleshed out the characters are. I really hope they give Daphne the Leighton treatment. She’s the mean girl in the show but has such a golden heart. As HBO Max is not available where I live so I can't. The description I've read means it falls in the category of 'nope' for me, that kind of show just does not appeal to me. But as for your argument, Tony Cervone gave us the epic Camp Scare, he also gave us the character trainwreck that was SD:MI.
