Kinda butting in here, but...
I see them as an AUs (alternate universes) of each other. Not really separate, but not all the same thing either. You can never split each Scooby Doo series up 100% since they all have the same characters, origin, etc., but most of them don't really connect to one another either.

The point I was trying to make there is I don't really see them as one extreme or the other. They're definitely not all directly connected (because if you look at their ages in each one as well as all the contradictions it makes no freaking sense), but that doesn't mean they're all completely individual with no relation whatsoever.
Some select ones might be direct continuities of each other that make sense within a certain timeline, but not all of them are. I guess you could say I see them as being interdependent.

I was just kind of confused with how you viewed things, so I had to ask that. I think I get it now.

They're definitely not all directly connected (because if you look at their ages in each one as well as all the contradictions it makes no freaking sense), Since I do view it all as one continuity, I have to respond to that. I realize that the connection between each series can be "a stretch" (I'm going to say), because of the inconsistencies (personality changes, etc.), but I don't think of that as anything more than each series having it's own feel/vibe/atmosphere. Most of the time their ages are not revealed. And with the contradictions, most of the time it is small things, and can be explained. An example of an explaination is that the character's views have changed. And with the big contradictions, I don't believe in Mystery Begins and Curse of the Lake Monster as being true. Because I view everything as one continuity, there are just too many contradictions for me to accept those two movies into the SD franchise.

I don't believe in Mystery Begins and Curse of the Lake Monster either.
Still fun movies to watch though (well at least for me, I'm remembering now that you smashed the DVD and threw it in the garbage LaeScoobyFan).

Yes! LOL. I don't watch them. I only saw the Lake Monster movie once, and that was when it premiered on CN. I cried during it because of how terrible it was. Not fun for me to watch!

You were actually sobbing during the movie? I didn't think it was that bad.

Yes. Tears actually did flow. I was really upset about it. But that was before I refused to accept it as being true. Now I just look at those movies in disgust and refuse to acknowledge them as being true.

I feel the same way about all the live action. I left the theatre when it was revealed scrappy was the monster. I assume thousands of people left theatres during that scene also. The second movie had so much occult in it it made me mad.

I don't have a problem with the first two live-action movies. I do wish they wouldn't have made Scrappy like that, but, it is what it is. I will always prefer the animated Scooby, but I do like the first two live-action movies.
What was occult in Monsters Unleashed? Just the real monsters?

Most of the time their ages are not revealed. Everytime one of them has got behind the wheel of a vehicle they have set a minimun age. They have to be the legal age to drive in whatever country they are visiting (for a car in the UK it is 17 but for the Mystery Machine it could be up to 21).

I think of them as being different ages at different times. It has been revealed that Velma is the youngest. And you're right with the legal age. They have to be of a certain age to drive. We just don't know what that age is in the world they live in.

What was occult in Monsters Unleashed? Just the real monsters? I was wondering that myself.

I also agree I can't stand contradictions. They get on my nerves!! Why can't they just stick to the story line. It's not that hard to do research or you get fans to help you do the research. I think each series is a separate entity. They don't build the series off of each other. What the directors/producers choose to take from past series is up to them, but each series is open to its own interpretation of the gang. I could totally understand if they based each new series off of a continuation of the last, then I could see that they would have to have continuity between the series. If you view each series as being on a separate continuity, then why do contradictions bother you? It seems like you would be okay with contradictions if you view each series on a different continuity.
