Velma was known for the exposition, the bringing it all together to explain what had happened and why. Collectivly the gang solved the mystery, each brought something to the table.

They still are producing them but they are well past their prime with a lot of 'cut and paste' art. Both the ongoing Scooby Doo: Where Are You and the mini-series Batman & Scooby Doo Mysteries are really done on a tight budget, and it shows. I gave up on the former ages ago and only get the latter in the (proving to be wrong) hope that they'd put some effort in the stories and art.

Yeah, it's odd the people you bump into. At my previous job I found out one of the developers had gone to the same secondary school I went to, only a couple of years above me. As for hospitals I think they've all moved to Medway Maritime now.

Thank you Ark and matt. Mudway? Man, I was born in Chatham and lived in Strood. All saint's hospital? I was born in Chatham as well. Spent most of my life in Gills. It was Medway, which means I was born in Gillingham, went to school in Chatham. East of the Medway, the Men and Maids of Kent do dwell.

The computer and the tablet, they need a series all by themselves.
That was a good one, used to love Courage when it was on. The ending does come across as and idea thta didn't wuite work, but that idea was better than many other ones they've turned into films. Probably the best crossover we'll get until someone reads my mind and does the Red Sonja meets Scooby Doo crossover of my dreams.

Wait until it actually airs before making such dramatic statements. There are plenty of versions of Scooby-Doo that deviate from the classic format, so why are these characterisations an issue? Yes, no and maybe. As all we've been given is 'hey, look how different* the characters are this time round, look at all these changes, that makes it better, right?' this is all we can react to. And from what we've seen I'm in agreement with shagyfan86 and YouDontKnowSponge (the latter being a rare thing :-)) We will react to what has been revealed. You are entitled to your opinion just as we are to express ours. There have been a number of variations, but the further they've taken them (think SD:MI, Be Cool, the updated 13 Ghosts and Zombie Island films) the less successful those character jumps have been for many. The characters, the difference in the characters, have become the focus and got in the way of the storytelling. *Just to clarify before anyone else accuses me of being FB reactionary I am not talking about ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation... it's how they behave and their relationships that are the issue.

Hmmm, in a recent run of Nancy Drew comics I think she was murdered in issue 1, so that Nancy Drew 'tone and vibe' counts for nothing. Plus given what was discussed here scoobyaddicts.proboards.com/thread/5778/announces-velma-adult-animated-series?page=7 I doesn't have that vibe to me. At the moment it sounds like an animated show where they'll be characters which happen to be called Fred, Velma, Daphne and Shaggy, one might wear glasses, another like purple, at some point a dog might put in an appearance, but Scooby Doo it is not. Essentially I can get more than enough 'drama', dysfunctional relationships/behaviour and other BS in the real world, I don't want it in my entertainment. Lol so tired of yall negative mindset. I thought only facebook conservative white 50yos would complain about an IP being stretched further. I mean, sure let’s get 100 more copy pastes of “Scooby-Doo Where Are You Show”.. Ohhh look, an ad hominem! Sigh, no I do not want more of the same*, if you look through my posts I was raving for Scooby Apocalypse, wanting the show to try new things. And no, it is not trying new things, it is just catching up with the trend of 'let's make the good guys dysfunctional, bad even' that's been around for a while. My comments stems from a similar feeling to why Seth MacFarlane created The Orville, you get fed up with the 'oh look another dysfunction dystopian future'. It's a bit like after The X-Files, everything had to have some kind of consipracy irrespective if the show needed it or not (a few shows like Threshold did the conspiracy thing really well though). I stuck with SD:MI becasue of the story, not the the characters (almost despite of the characters). With Velma/Marcie being the hight point of a relationship arc within that series. You can be as createive as hell, but you can do that whilst being kind the the characters. So far all we're getting is characters, almost a 'look how much we've changed them! but hey, their names are still the same!' *I'd be down for some more What's New Scooby Doo though.

I can say it. WBTV and Zoic Studios are testing how to make a live action show with a realistic CGI Scooby, as part of a straight to series pitch. It it too much to hope that they'll be friends and not the 'dysfunctional with issues' take on the characters and their relationships that we've had since SD:MI?

Yes? How do you know? I really hope so cuz I am super hyped It matches what I was told by a producer on the show, even that her dad is dead. Hmmmm, a quote from The Hunt For Red October comes to mind... My God. They've got a madman on their hands.

A Snipple employee posted on her facebook account about the latest projects so I asked in the comments if a Scooby series was in the works that needed animators. I received a reply from another employee saying: “Actually there is, but it is done in Paperless. And it is not a series but a DTV.😊” and I guess she is talking about Trick or Treat. Hence I assume that is the DTV, also, since this is the first time Snipple animates a ScoobY DTV and since the Guess Who art is shown in the picture and they DID work on the show, do you think we could be Guess Who animation for the next DTVs? Wouldn’t surprise me since the next DTVs are gonna be mainly crossovers Could be a short like Beach Beastie.
