Even if there was some slight inference, I don't think her sexuality matters. Plus its not like it was ever meant to be reciprocated. Hot Dog Water seemed far more concerned with having friends then having a relationship. Which is kind of depressing/in keeping with Velma's previous attempts at relationships. (Always ending up as the friend).

That's nice. I mostly use the shows done by Hanna-Barbera themselves to look for evidence. To be honest, I never though HB were ever too serious on the relationships, not even Fred and Daphne (I didn't see much Frephne hints after the New Scooby-Doo Movies). We see them dancing together and physical contact, but that also happened with her and Shaggy later on. Were you being sarcastic when you said "that's nice."? I assume you're not, but I can't really tell. And what exactly are you saying "that's nice" to?

Well, I thought it was nice of you to give your honest opinion on the matter and be civil about it, even if we disagree.

Has this thread always said "Announcement:" before "SD Couples"? Because if it has then I guess I'm just going crazy. I've never noticed it before.

They have similar personalities (fun loving, homorous, comDpasionate), similar faults (clumsy, finding trouble or vise-versa, making mistakes on mysteries), and they have the same interests (going to Funland, dancing, playing with toys, digging for clams at the beach, costume parties, etc.). Of course, that's not to say HB made them a couple. But I never saw them being serious about the whole thing anyway. The show was always about the mysteries, as it should be. I hope you're okay with me asking this, but, wouldn't those interests be all of the gang and not just Shaggy and Daphne? And when were they playing with toys?

Progress is a funny thing. None of us even blinked (nor should have) at the mentions of an interracial relationship between Mr. E and Cassidy Williams. That wouldn't have been the case when Scooby-Doo first started. Some day I do believe that there CAN be a Velma who is smart and is a lesbian and it's still our Velma. It will take a little bit to get to a time when it would be non-blinked at as well though. Always looking forward to positive progress.

Oh, there's nothing wrong.
I actually find Fred and Velma the more series type (moreso Velma, but Fred to an extent as well). I could go into further detail, but I'm not sure I should.
It's "The No Face Zombie Chase Case", if memory serves correct.

I think it would be great for gays and lesbians to be 100% accepted in society. But when that time comes, does it mean that we have to make Velma a lesbian? I think there are two main reason why nobody thought of Mr. E and Cassidy Williams' relationship any differently: 1. It is accepted (for the most part) in society now (like you said j3h). 2. We have never seen these characters before until this series. It's not a shock to anybody to hear that they were together because we are just now getting to know them. It's a little bit different with Velma. We already know the character, and her being a lesbian has never been part of the show (in my opinion). I think that most people don't view her as a lesbian, so why make her one once gay people are 100% accepted in society?

I would consider Daphne to be one of the more serious ones too, but.. You could go into more detail if you want to. There wouldn't be anything wrong with that. I was just thinking that all of them go to Funland, dance, dig for clams, go to costume parties, etc.
