When I was little I thought the gang was just a bunch of pals that hung out together. With 13 ghosts, I just assumed Shaggy and Daphne were an item without giving it much thought.
I'd prefer them all being friends. Though I admit what happened in Night Terrors amuses me to no end.

As for my preference in shipping, I prefer Shaphne and Frelma because I think they work best together. I'm publishing a story on Fan Fiction with both of these parings in the same story and so far the world hasn't ended, yet.

Umm.. Yea, Fred and Daphne because that's how it has been since the begining of the franchise.

I think I'll check your fic out. I may be in the minority, but I see Daphne and Shaggy working better... They did for two SD series run around together. And their personalities match up better.

And their personalities match up better. I don't see how Shaggy and Daphne's personalities match up better.

The story is called 'Blooming Mysterious' btw.

I think that if the SDMI series was made about 10 years into the future, there would be an actual chance of them happening. I understand that they won't do it because it is a kids show and not everyone is LBGT friendly, but in the future i don't think that it won't be that big of a deal in society.

i know it's not canon and never will be... As you touched on in later posts, I think there will come a time in a more accepting future that this could be and will be fully explored. In my opinion, I'm not sure "not canon" is quite the right term, since the current production team & writing staff are scripting it to intentionally be implied but are limited by today's general society's automatic categorization of what is controversial or not. While it may not be fully declared on screen, it's emotion is undenialably there (if it wasn't, we wouldn't be talking about it at all). Speaking of controversy, since this thread may or may not be drifting into or around a "hot button" subject, let's all remember to be respectful of other posters' opinions and not turn this thread into a debate, argument or worse. I'm just being a little proactive here and hopefully unnecessarily so, since the posts in here are perfectly fine so far. I'm optimistic for smooth sailing ahead.

No disrespect is meant out of this, I'm just trying to express how I feel.
I don't have anything against gay people, but it's not something I want to see with one of the main characters of the show.

My favorite couple is Fred and Daphne................. They have respect for each other and they just go together well. Exactly.
And on the same-sex couple issue, they're exactly the same as a heterosexual couple. They just happen to have the same genitalia. That's it.
The "not something you want to see" line is kinda hurtful, y'know. :/

To be fair, I don't think Lae ment it to be hurtful, but I also understand your view on how it can be. I do think we can continue and stay positive here, but I'll keep an eye on things so no one ends up being offended or worse.
I am optimistic that we don't need to lock every thread that this subject comes up in or to be overly reactionary towards it, but again we are all here for fun and when the fun stops so does the thread.
