it's hard to phrase it mostly because in these early stages, we've been relying on bits leaked and bits told on. We don't actually get the firm news until they actually set a date for release. As many of projects get "announced" or "started" but never actually get finished.
The original news was clearly for this movie, it was Scooby, it is animated and it had the writer we now know is indeed writing it. After that came the break where we learned they were also prepping animated Flintstones theatrical project. In the next year we hard they was another writer working on a Scooby Doo live action remake. We haven't heard anything more since then.
Then this movie got it's date, said to be animated and with the first writer. Now it's entirely possible maybe they changed their minds on the way. Or it is also possible they are both separate. Given they have multiple ideas coexisting just fine on tv and dtv as well as comics, the theatrical game might be done that way too.
I just got back online from being away for like a day, but I do think most of our following all these news bits of theatricals are buried further down on the general board and news board. Since I recall talking about most of them on here before.

Tony just responded to a few tweets. Spike Brandt is helping out a little on S.C.O.O.B. Also in response to my funny tweet he said "Cartoon Characters Dont Age". So maybe that's a hint they will be teenagers in S.C.O.O.B. So I guess he never watched those 90s scooby films than? Or the older 80s episodes? Or A Pup named Scooby Doo? They aged in those films / series I'm a little confused how this is going to work, excited but confused LOL. Every series has it's own different elements to work with, Cartoon Network city was different ( Any one used to watch that stuff from the old Cartoon Network days? ) They mixed it all up like that but LOL. The Flinstones and the Jetsons? How's that going to work with this? XD I guess I heard rumors these Guy's are going yo be agents? I hope it's going to be regular 2D Animation

For the record guys, have we seen anything that is or at least looks like it could be confirmation whether these films are 2D or 3D yet? Personally I've still seen nada, and without that confirmation the contextual evidence to me sides 2d.
I'm sure we'll have more ideas as they move further along and get more into it. As we don't even know much about the first one, chickens shouldn't be fully counted before the eggs are laid.
And as far as how, it depends on how seriously they take that. Given the sources we are talking about had only a sometimes stance. I asked about this over on another forum out of curiosity. But remembering back shows like Laff-a-lympics have funny animals and meddling kids interacting just fine despite being drawn quite differently. Not to mention how Fred and Barney just walk around in the present day with zero back story. I suppose it will depend on how far the writers want to take it, if it goes there. And more than likely how much of the audience is going to care about that.

Wonder if Sven Libaek is still alive? He composed for Boo Brothers and the other superstars movies. He has a lot of mellow soundtracks on Spotify.
This song could be from a lost Scooby episode:

Is that not just a random screenshot from one of those DTVs?

Is that not just a random screenshot from one of those DTVs? I was thinking that, it felt familiar but it's not like that's an unfamiliar pose for them. But that's not what I would call concept art, that's a completed frame of animation.
