Those are some harsh comments. Why do people always call Velma Thelma? I don't know, but I love the irony of them getting so outraged that we changed something about a cartoon character about whom they don't even care enough to know her name. I'm glad to hear your a hometown Kate fan. Mindy was great, although I never got the chance to work with her. All I know is Kate and she's so sweet and a total pro and fits the sensibility of the show perfectly. You'll be blown away by some of the stuff she and Velma will be doing.

Hey guys, as promised some official news hot off the presses: Kate Micucci is, in fact, the new Velma and she's absolutely incredible. So talented, so funny, creating the best, funniest, Velmaist Velma of all Velmahood.

As someone whose cable subscription includes Boomerang, I'm not adversely affected by the show's location, but I do understand the frustrations of those without the network. That said, I appreciate the fact that these two shows will be airing on Boomerang as a part of a larger plan, and not just because the mothership is disinterested in the product. Haha. No, I can assure you, WB and the networks LOVE the show.

I think you missed my point that even a Sandy Duncan crossover was well written and that I'm pitching an Elvira crossover movie. Definitely Elvira + Scooby. That's a match. ******** No, I understood you. I was just kidding about returning to Sandy. While Elvira does sound like a great match for Scooby, unfortunately, I doubt the network will feel the target demographic know who she is well enough to make her a large part of any episode. Having her come in to do a voice for a character would probably be more feasible, but who knows? Yeah, totally agree. I hope the show can reach as many people as possible. I can't get into reasons why they're rolling the series out in this way. I just hope the lure of a new Scooby series will bring the audience to whatever network it ends up on and that people will ask their local providers to carry the network and, if it does well (as long as Sponge isn't the network programmer), then it will be shown elsewhere, as well. Announcing a big Sandy Duncan crossover episode will certainly do the trick!

Scooby Doo Where Are You? will always be my favorite. I also enjoyed, as a kid, when they started bringing in the guest stars. I thought Laff-A-Lympics was ingenious and I'm surprised no one's done something like that again - taking all their characters and putting them in one show, although I guess "Battle of the Network Stars" was big at the time, so it was a riff on that show. Today it would something like a reality show like the Bachelor or Celebrity Rehab, but with Yogi Bear. I would so watch celebrity rehab with yogi bear "I've gone three days without a pic-a-nic basket and I'm crawling out of my fur!"

jcb, what is your favorite previous Scooby series? Mine are probably What's New Scooby Doo and The Scooby-Doo Show, Mystery Inc and Laff-A-Lympics are also great. Hey guys, sorry, I've gotten word that I'm probably giving away information that I really shouldn't be at this point. I've tried to be careful and make it clear that nothing I say here is official in any way, I'm probably gonna have to be even less forthcoming with details about the show. Just a warning for those of you formulating questions. I'm still happy to chat, but not about any Be Cool details. You can do me a favor, however, by not reposting anything I say anywhere else and you'll be the first to hear any news I AM allowed to discuss. Cool?

jcb, could you say what kind of animation techniques/software is being used for Be Cool? I'm not really on that side of things but it's a traditional 2-D animated show.

Well, if your series doesn't end up on CN it might just get killed out of the gate. Comcast isn't carrying Boomerang in my area, and I suspect that's alot of the US audience. Not that overseas can't make some ratings too, but, well, Comcast is just huge. Does anyone anywhere have Boomerang on Comcast? I've read forums from Comcast users nationwide and they say no, we haven't had Boomerang ever. I think I only 'had it' when it was a segment on CN. So, I literally may not be able to see your work, which sounds like another CN screw up. But, if you would, i'd love to hear your feedback on this one. I see your getting the KISS crossover done. Any chance of doing a spooky redux of the old Sandy Duncan episode using Elvira instead? I mean, I really want an original work ofcourse, but, they did 'in the day' Sandy Duncan, and MADE THAT WORK! Lol. Phyllis Diller and the Magic Mansion was brilliant, Sonny and Cher was surprisingly cool. Basically I don't see how these 2 icons can't get together. Scooby and Elvira... I swear they are two sides of the same audience. You do that and i'm good, my other requests literally wont matter, though Scooby Doo running into Bruce Campbell at least sounds like a good Cartoon Network Halloween Special. I apologize if I misread or misunderstood your words, Cap. My response was less about your specific comments than it was to a particular concept that keeps popping up about why "change" Scooby. I was trying to finally address the issue once and for all - Scooby IS change. It's funny, because at Warner Brothers everybody has a different idea about what elements need to be in a Scooby Doo show to define it AS a Scooby Doo show. Literally nobody agrees. Everybody also has a different idea about what the audience NEEDS or WANTS or EXPECTS to see, which makes it tricky. So, basically, I've been in the trenches at Warners fighting these battles and sorting out the company's perception of the "property" and how to incorporate certain elements in a brand new series, which takes a different approach and is attempting to redefine what you can do with Scooby Doo. I guess it all came out in a rant, so I'm sorry if it seemed directed at you. Cheers.
