I am surprised that it's not since it would be something quite different than previous Scooby shows. The "action show" format seems to be the favorites for getting the CGI animation treatment and since this is being introduced as being more of a comedy show, I can see why traditional animation stylings won out.
Hi I'm new here and this is my first post! I didn't know that there was a new Scooby Doo cartoon coming out. I'm not sure what to think of that picture of Scooby from the show but I guess I need to see it in action. Does anyone know when it starts?
This new series sounds terrible, I just don't see comedy working with the Scoody Doo characters. It looks like they are really going to get crazy with the characters, judging by that Scooby Doo design.
I wish we could get a series focused on the mysteries again, the last series I enjoyed was What's New Scooby Doo?. At least we still have DTV movies and specials, and hopefully the specials will continue.

Exciting news. However i'm a little worried this is going to just end up another bland tv show like the last two where they don't even try to be respectful, unlike the far superior DTV and specials.
I guess my big fear is this is just another attempt of CN sticking their nose to make the older franchise there current style so they can show more of them and limit the older material more. We already saw them attempt this with Looney Tunes and Scooby Doo once before with serious tone....is this now the attempt to reboot them for CN's current stance on comedy?.....yeah that's really no better at all.
Wonder how long it'll be before the DTV series announces a film working a general idea from this to show how they can do it better like the previous two did to ideas people disliked from MI.
However maybe i'm wrong and this is them going back to HBworld roots and putting on a fun new show, only time will tell. But if it does end up being CNboot part II, i'm just going to go back to reruns and waiting for the movies.
I think it will be like A pup named Scooby-Doo... it was a comedy! and maybe like Get a Clue too. I hope there will be really interesting mysteries instead of predectable people behind an ordinary monster.
I am not entirely sure what to think yet. That redesign did throw me off a little. It looks like we won't be having any new TV series with the gang drawn in their original style for a long time (the last one to do this somewhat was "The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo.") All the other shows since then have utilized some sort of redesign for the gang...
"A Pup Named Scooby-Doo": Younger, slightly cartoony versions of the characters. "What's New, Scooby-Doo?": Warner's regular "house" style of the time. "Shaggy and Scooby-Doo, Get a Clue!": Very angular and stylized, somewhat resembling the live-action gang with dots for eyes. "Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated": Slightly closer to the originals but still a bit more modernized.
To be honest, I would like to see a more cartoony Scooby-Doo again. After all, the original shows could be pretty cartoony as well. It'd be a refreshing change of pace from the "realistic" look and feels used in "What's New" and SD:MI.
