Witch's Ghost fit the newly-emerging goth-vampire trend of the time-- from Buffy to Vampire: The Masquerade. For that, it was pretty neat. I was sad to see the Hex Girls' characters not really developed all that much on my last rewatch of it though. Also, if I'm being honest, I wish the voice actor for Ben had let himself go a little more into his "madness" style. It was still very neat to have him in a prominent role in a Scooby film, though. I suspect he wasn't given much time to jump back into the role. Something nobody talks about is that the Daphne and Velma film was filmed in like 14 days! 14 days. For that, it's quite impressive on the actors' parts. It's hard to say what the circumstances were at the time.

I would have also liked to see the Hex Girls developed a little more. I will say that I thought Tim Curry’s performance as Ben Ravencroft was fantastic and one of the highlights of the movie, so I’ll respectfully disagree with that point even though I do see where you’re coming from

Definitely Witch's Ghost. I see so many people saying that it's their favorite Scooby movie, and I just don't get it. I like the Hex Girls as much as the next person, but... I just can't watch this movie without thinking about it being boring. That’s an interesting choice. I respectfully disagree with that one as I find it to be an incredibly entertaining and engaging movie and it’s one of my favorites

Curry still does a good job, don't get me wrong! I've just heard him do even better is all.

My only problem with the Witch's Ghost is that it feels 10 mins or so too short.

A lot of the Scooby films are a bit under a normal studio-length film, and a feature-film only technically has to be like 65+ minutes I believe. I'm ashamed to admit that last time I tried to rewatch the recent Blade Runner, I fell asleep. I enjoyed the film in theaters, but yowza... it's like the length of three short Scooby films. Gotta prep for that with food and caffeine...

I just wish we had extended versions of the Mook movies because I adore them so much.

Witch's Ghost keeps moving. Like, oh... she wasn't a real ghost. Wait. There's another witch. I think this lends to it feeling interesting yet also gives it that "ten minutes too short" feel. It's actually only a minute shorter than Zombie Island, but it feels shorter. Miyazaki's Totoro film is praised for its slow-paced scenes, but you have to do that right, otherwise the audience will quickly get bored. When the gang is exploring the town, I feel that they could have spent ten or twenty minutes longer on that. Let the viewer fall in love with this niche town a little more, and then introduce this terrible witch who wants to ruin everything. We could have seen more development of the Hex Girls as well. The saving grace here is that their design proved to be so popular that they have sprung up multiple times after, seeing a little more character development each time, I'd say.

And I definitely wouldn't be opposed to watching it again with someone who wanted to. It's just one that I'm neutral on and don't really think of when I think of Scooby.

I think Zombie Island is extremely overrated. People hail it as the best Scooby movie ever and while it’s a great movie it’s FAR from the best. I think it’s held up so high because it was the first official DTV movie with the whole gang and nostalgia reasons. Had Camp Scare or Abracadabra taken it’s place as the first everyone would be calling those the holy grail movies. To me it’s just a decent film but not even close to being the best Scooby movie.

A lot of the Scooby films are a bit under a normal studio-length film, and a feature-film only technically has to be like 65+ minutes I believe. The Academy considers a feature film as anything over 40 minutes. SAG considers anything over 75 minutes a feature film. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feature_filmEvery time I watch the 1931 Dracula, I'm shocked by how short it feels. (only 1 hour and 15 minutes) For such a creepy, eerie, and slow pace the film wraps up rather quickly. I always seem to 'remember' it being longer in my head.

What the Hex is Going On? is an interesting case. People think it's underrated but I think it's overrated.

What the Hex is Going On? is an interesting case. People think it's underrated but I think it's overrated. Now that is an interesting choice. I must admit, that is my favorite of the original series and my second favorite episode of all time, but it is interesting to see other people's opinions

I think Mystery Incorporated and What's New Scooby-Doo are highly overrated. As far as movies go I see a lot of people, mainly in other parts of the internet, who really love the original live action movies and I really didn't like those movies at all. They were honestly a large part of me having issues with Matthew Lillard portraying Shaggy in the cartoons, because I couldn't stand the movies. (I've warmed up to him since Be Cool, though.)
I can't really think of specific episodes from the original series that were overrated though. Mainly because I honestly can't attest to how other fans feel about them. Scooby-Doo isn't widely talked about in my opinion, except on here.
Zombie Island is 100% the holy grail of Scooby movies, btw lol.
