I completely agree. It was always such a letdown at the end with the reveal. If that feeling of disappointment didn’t linger or especially if there was a truly guilty perpetrator, I would probably adore it, but as it is, it’s ok but one of the worst of its series In all honesty I will admit I am probably biased because I disliked Scooby episodes that didn't have supernatural-type villains and the robot didn't feel particularly supernatural to me. I never really loved "The Backstage Rage" as a kid either for the same reason, but I will admit it's grown on me both because of the creepy "you know my secret!" catchphrase and Jordan Farrell's dark Scooby fan film which puts a bit of a disturbing twist on the Puppet Master. Hmm I'm gonna have to check out that Backstage Rage film. I'm a huge fan of that episode to begin with

There's some great humor in there and it's actually pretty dark (it's rated PG-13 and for good reason), though there are some unintentionally stilted moments such as my favorite, a guy saying "by the way, will you marry me?" in the same tone that you'd ask someone if they needed some eggs at the store lol. I think it's definitely worth the watch (and shameless plug, my site is actually billed in the credits for helping promote it lol) and creates some interesting lore around the episode.

I watched the first half last night, to where they got through the main events of the original episode (golly, it’s a long film). I found it to be really interesting so far and really good work. I personally prefer the events and the atmosphere of the original episode (at least so far) but I gotta admit I thought the Shaggy and Thorn relationship or whatever was surprisingly kinda cute, at least from what I’ve seen

I also kinda want to mention, The Backstage Rage wasn't one of my very favorites from the show as a kid either. It was kinda in the middle of the pack. It's when I got older that I started loving it. I think it is one of the more mature episodes

I prefer the original episode too, but yeah, that Shaggy/Thorn relationship is super cute. And yeah, it's 2 and a half hours haha. Definitely enjoy the humor style of the film as well. The Puppet Phantom in this film is far darker than the Puppeteer in the original episode though.

Cyber Chase is another one I think is overrated. Really loved it when I was a kid but it's appeal has worn off, pretty drastically.
Alien Invaders is the opposite. Wasn't particularly fond of it years ago but have grown to truly love it ... especially the setting of Roswell & Scorpion Ridge.

It used to be my favorite or 2nd favorite but has gone down a bit. Alien Invaders has also gone way up for me as well. I just love the feel of all of the Mook era films

The Tar Monster is a very overrated episode, for me. Definitely one of the greatest looking monsters but the episode was just full of unnecessary Shaggy and Scooby Hijinks. I'm always up for that but it seemed like they stretched it to the limit in that episode and the plot was just second to their antics. Would probably agree with Abracadabra Doo for the most overrated movie. I'm a pretty big Potter fan but that one did absolutely nothing for me. The tar monster was actually on VHS too, advancing its popularity early on, though it feels more obscure than some from that season.

Foul Play in Funland, Scooby Doo and a Mummy Too (I still love it tho), Hassle in the Castle (same here), Creepy Tangle in Bermuda Triangle I love these ones, but I'm first to admit that I had lots of exposure to them when young and they were most certainly overplayed, the first three on VHS as well as CN at the time.

As for myself... I find myself switching opinions on Scooby stuff frequently. A Gaggle of Galloping Ghouls was released on physical media like 25 times or something crazy, but it is a pretty good episode barring that fact. Most overrated. Most overrated. Yeah, Scooby Chief I can agree with. Even as a kid, that episode just felt like Tom and Jerry to me. It didn't feel like Scooby. BUT! It introduced us to Scrappy's gang, which I think could have actually been a neat show, perhaps in competition to Pound Puppies or something. I think Hanna Barbera was already animating that one though... haha.

Well I really love the middle two just not near as much as most and Hassle in the Castle in particular is overplayed, and the other two are decently fine episodes, just weaker than most of the rest in their respective series and I see my opinions not line up with other people's. If we were going with ones that I just flat out don't like rather than overrated, I would go Ransom of Scooby Chief, Get a Clue in general, maybe a few others

Honestly, the fact that I'm not completely sick of those episodes, even owning like four copies of each, goes to show that they are well-written, imo.

Definitely Witch's Ghost. I see so many people saying that it's their favorite Scooby movie, and I just don't get it. I like the Hex Girls as much as the next person, but... I just can't watch this movie without thinking about it being boring.
