Animation looks incredible. Love the details in backgrounds and designs, it’s gonna be soooo good, I just know it. My favorite character designs are Daphne > Velma > Shaggy > Fred. Funny enough the only one they kept white feels so off to me and not like Fred at all, but oh well. Also Im obsessed with the popular girls group, they all look so good, cant wait to watch this. The lighting, the shading, the colors 😍

"Not only does Velma take too long to rid itself of its baggage and be itself, but it often feels like it has a direct disdain for its source material."
Very well stated and I appreciate linking even negative reviews.

Thanks for praising my objectivity in posting the review even though as a normal human being with sense of logic would do the same.. but how are you praising that when you yourself are just focusing on the negative one without even seeing the show… cringe

It's unfair to Warner Bros. to pretend that the entire fanbase is excited about this mockery.

It's unfair to Warner Bros. to pretend that the entire fanbase is excited about this mockery. The 'ENTIRE' fanbase will never be excited about anything, since people are different so it's impossible to please everybody. I've seen a lot of fans excited about the show and a lot of them not excited at all. But it's always like this, you guys judge something without watching it and then, no matter how good it actually is, it gets ignored. It happened a bit with Mystery Incorporated, but specially with Be Cool, which is an amazing show btw.

Given the way WB-Discovery has treated the franchise lately, I think more than a little negativity is warranted. Even going outside the Scooby Super Fan Mindset for a bit, there's just not any good reason for anyone to be excited about this. Mindy Kaling is not that popular of a comedian and hasn't been relevant for years. Most people who want to watch Scooby-Doo with adult humor are confused as to why Scooby is not in it. If you're a fan of animation, you're annoyed as to the way WB-Discovery has treated its animation department. Could it be good? It's possible. Riverdale seemed laughably stupid but ended up becoming an iconic show. But as for now, I think there's good reason for people to be upset

Yeah, WB sucks, treats animation bad and on and on... But my point is: Can we just wait until it's released and watch the first episode to actually judge? 'Trick or Treat' is something I had zero expectations, but I watched anyways and actually loved it. But whatever.

While it's no secret WB has made some confusing and poor decisions over the past many years, I agree with scubidu. I don't think anyone's gaining anything from judging the show before it comes out. Worst case scenario, the show is a dumpster fire, we all have a good laugh, and hopefully there will be some other good content this year like the Krypto DTV. I definitely understand people's hesitancy about the show given what a different direction it's taking, but there's still nothing to be gained from hating on something that hasn't come out yet. It's just a small part of the franchise that likely won't significantly impact future shows, so it's easily ignorable if it's not people's cup of tea and not something worth freaking out over.

But as for now, I think there's good reason for people to be upset Mindy Kaling has actually two of the most popular shows in the US happening at the same time atm, “Never Have I Ever” and “The Sex Lives Of College Girls” so idk what you talking about. Also idc who is popular and who isn’t. The glimpse we got of her as Velma is incredible and probably the best Ive seen since Cohn. And thats all I care about. She gun eat the role up so bad

For example: I really dislike the characters designs for Velma. This will likely prevent I could enjoy the show even if the writing isn't bad. Also, I've never understand the idea of blaming the audience for not giving a show an opportunity. If they didn't make the show appealing enough to attract enough audience, it's not the audience's fault.
