Ann Sarnoff is at her boardroom table going "We need to add more Fraphne!" This is a scenario that makes sense and isn't stupid. Actually, it's the people running the WB kids content that would be thinking this.

I agree but we won't get it, not unless WB passes the franchise off to someone else or gives HB true creative freedom AND a fresh writing team. As always it will be up to fans and FanFiction to do the job that the rights holder can't/won't do. The author of Daphne & Velma: The Vanishing Girl did exactly this. That book is a mature and unique take on both the franchise and the titular characters. But the fandom, by and large, ignored that book while continuing to bitch about Shaggy & Scooby being given too much focus. Well, it didn't help that only die-hard Scooby fans were aware of the novel's existence, let alone a release date. I mean, I follow all of the official Scooby-Doo pages and I don't think a single one has ever posted. At least, the Twitter never has. What is the point of having a social media presence if they're literally not going to use it to advertise anything? Even Guess Who isn't really getting an advertised push like that and it's the current TV series. Heck, we were promised new episodes way back in February and still haven't seen them air on Boomerang's App.

2) "officially end any form of Fraphne in all future productions" is the most moronic reason for a corporate merger I've ever heard. I know they have toned down the relationships since Be Cool but WB is still pushing this pairing in video clips of Stage Fright like their minds can't let go of it. I'm surprised you're willing to watch the first seven or eight seasons. Ever since Scooby-Doo where are you Fraphne and Shelma were already being set up as the Canon ships. It was never officially mentioned back then but there were quite a few allusions. Anytime the gang was At some sort of dance or party, Fred and Daphne would always be dancing together and Shaggy and Velma likewise.

If you're talking about stuff like Velma having Shaggy's cough medicine on her and him carrying her spare glasses, they were originally supposed to be siblings so that's probably the reason behind moments like those. I never really got relationship vibes from Velma and Shaggy (although that didn't stop me from pairing up my Velma and Shaggy action figures when I was little so that they would be happy like my Daphne and Fred figures), and outside of Curse of the Lake Monster, Mystery Incorporated and Scooby Apocalypse, the franchise has never really pushed them in that direction either.

The Fraphne relationship vibes seem to have died down by The Scooby Doo Show. Shaphne started to spark up by the time of Scrappy's first season.

Is it me or does it seem weirdly dead right now? 2016-2019 was a huge boom period. Lots of podcasts. Lost of conversations on Twitter. Lots of hype for future and current projects. Now most of those podcasts are defunct, a lot of prominent fans have left twitter, and there's surprisingly low hype for the upcoming THEATRICAL BIG BUDGET MOVIE and the tv series that's currently running. Even this website seems deader than it was a couple years ago. It feels hard not to blame Curse of the 13th Ghost and Return to Zombie Island For me, corona has been a factor. When I'm working, Scooby stuff is my side-hobby after work. Without work, I've fallen out of the Scooby scene, too. I suppose they are synergistic for me and I didn't even know it.

I also felt like Warner Bros was stalking the usual Scooby places online around when Zombie Island 2 released. Don't get me wrong, it's neat to think that they probably read what we say here, but after getting a whole slew of films we'd joked about wanting, I'm hesitant to give them more ideas.
