The Shared Universe was such a bad idea. Sure, having Scooby and the Gang interact with other HB characters is fine. Just don't build your entire movie around it. I agree, I wouldn't mind if they made cameos or are referenced during the movie, but making each character from Hanna-Barbera shows having some type of role would just ruin the movie for me.

Kinda glad that they are moving away from the Shared Universe idea. They probably saw how poorly Universal Monster Shared Universe did and how DC has just been meh and decided it was best to move away from that idea. Glad to see that were getting some news for this movie. Can't wait for the first trailer. Warner overall has shown a bit better reserve for the other properties they have when it comes to how they had been done. Universal made a rather large blunder of trusting the general horror franchise to people who's biggest accomplishments were the Transformers and Fast and Furious movies instead of people who were bigger fans of the original films. It showed. They weren't sure if they wanted to be the MCU or the Universal Monsters.
Warner on the other hand had a confusing misstep with their DC franchise. While they gave it to one of the people who best understand comics tone in movies, he unfortunately loves the era a lot of DC fans hate the most and that just normal people will find alienating. So they had to scramble to dial it back.
But since then the others are all in hands where they should be. You don't see non horror names in the Conjuring movies. The next Godzilla movie is in the hands an admitted Toho fan (Dougherty even tossed a Scooby reference into his first directed movie and a Full Moon reference into his second, so i'm obvious very confident in him there haha). Now we have a DTV slate showing clearly love to older Scooby series before his theatrical.
If this one turns out to be alienating, I admit I'll be totally shocked.

Not sure exactly what it means or how much important it is, but here's a new info about the crew.

Well according to my one data point (a.k.a my son) Into the Spider-Verse was quite good. But... it's been just under 3 years since this was announced and it seems no more near completion than it was before. You wonder if the film is stuck in development hell or are they finally gaining some traction after the rethink/reboot mentioned earlier in this thread.

Definitely one of my favorite movies ever. And I’m not a big marvel fan

I wouldn't mind Scooby having that same tone if they were to do that for this film.

I think the release of this banner would suggest that WB is finally ready to start promoting the film. We should be expecting a first poster and trailer real soon!

Man, that poster looks like Scooby Doo Next Generation LOL. I mean the shadow looks like Scooby but the pup itself doesn't.
May? Guess that means we should be getting a preview of some sort soon as others said.
I'll wait for the official preview before actually judging the film itself.
So wait, we aren't doing the whole shared Universe thing now? We've got Guess Who going where we get tons of guest stars appearing and the old Scooby Doo movies. I don't get what was wrong with the idea. Its how it was being done is all. Firing the original voice actors for more famous actors is not a way to get the Scooby fandom intrested. I'm not even sure why they got Zac Efron for the role of Fred when he's not even really the main character. I'm curious if Zac Efron even watched a Scooby show at all.

I'm unclear if they're still doing the shared universe now that the movie has changed directors so many times. I imagine they still are doing that given so many Hanna-Barbera characters are involced, but it's unclear as to if "shared universe" means there will be other films focused around other HB properties in the coming years or not. Also, to clarify, no one was fired. The regular voice actors were replaced for this one film only, and still have their regular voice roles in every other upcoming Scooby episode and film.

They want more known actors/actress to play the roles, so people will tune in to watch. I would beg to differ. The pick appeals to a very defined segment of the potential audience. People will see it because it's Scooby, not because Zac what's his face is replacing Frank Welker. For me the loss of the existing VAs, and their treatment in this, is one reason to not see it.
