A bit forced now? I'm a big fan of the pairing but it seems these days they keep shoving it in our faces. I liked how they did things in the 80s/90s films but in the 200 and MI series they act like we don't know Daph is in love with Fred already or the other way around. Any one else feel this besides me? I saw the preview for this new film and it made me think this.

I agree that I liked how they insinuated it, but it wasn't the focus of the show. With SDMI, I felt they focused on it too much. I also felt the relationships got in the way of the storyline at times.

I find it a little forced, especially in the Stage Fright trailer.

Yah, what the heck was that? What happened to the plot? We don't need Daph/Fred drama in every Scooby flick =/
Heck, whats New Scooby-Doo? Did a better job with romance in my opinion.

We don't know the context of Daphne's revelation in the Stage Fright clip so they could be rehearsing (with the girls failing their acting in different ways).

I never cared for fraphne much, however, I feel it is more forced than ever right now , HB was not as bad as WB when it came to it. WB kind of just shoves it straight down your throat.

I'd love for the relationship to be toned down or just disappear altogether. Seventeen years of forcing it on us is more than enough.

i would give scooby a girlfriend for a change. except ther relationship wouldnt be the focus, it would be on the team.

Now that could be an intriguing idea. But would we want to bring back one of Scooby's one-off love interests, bring Nova in from MI, or make up a whole new character?

I never cared for Nova. If Scooby were to get a girlfriend, I'd prefer someone new.

i'd make dixie his girlfriend. if you remember her from showboat scooby, she could cook up a mean chicken that served like a scooby snack. WB had plans about making scooby dee his girlfriend , but those plans fell through. i liked dixie better as a character anyway.

Hence one reason why I don't ship them anymore. Every movie/tv show since the 90s really focuses on them and just pushes two characters that just look good, with no matching personality, together.

I say focus on Shelma for a while to balance things out.

I say focus on Shelma for a while to balance things out. Yes and no. I do like Shelma and I think there is a lot of mileage for humour and the like but overall I think I'd prefer them to drop relationships completely, sure put a few bits of interaction interaction in for the various shippers to awwwww over or the more excitable elements to climb on their high-horses and crow that this is incontrovertible proof that they were right and all other shippers should be dammed as heretics etc etc.
