Ugh! No to Velma x shaggy romance subplot..I hated what they did with that pairing in MI, let them remain friends from here on out.
I loved how shaggy's showdown did things with the gang, no romance just team work, more of that please.

i would give scooby a girlfriend for a change. except ther relationship wouldnt be the focus, it would be on the team. I want Crystal and Amber to come back. Because that is a cute pairing for both Shaggy and Scooby. And well, it's ironic and cute that they fell for Aliens XD I actually find writing Fred x Daphne the hardest out of all the cute fluff I write in my stories. I have had a few successes, but in the grand scheme of things... Writing them is hard for me. I need to work on their plot more, but I find it far easier to do all the other cannon pairings over Fred X Daphne. Also, I get so many reviews asking for me to write that pairing, so personally I get a bit huffy when someone demands me to do something when I already have been having trouble doing it. So =P

^Try writing the 80's pairings, they are also canon, Shaphne/Frelma makes the most sense out of all pairings. A reason you might have trouble writing Frephne? They're presented as perfect together. That's a dead end, the two have nothing to learn from each other. If they are with the other option in the group it makes sense. Fred/Velma shows Fred how acting smart is different than actually being smart and allows velma to let loose a bit, Shaggy/Daphne shows Daphne learning to be herself and also allows Shaggy to be a bit braver.

Fred/Velma shows Fred how acting smart is different than actually being smart and allows velma to let loose a bit, Shaggy/Daphne shows Daphne learning to be herself and also allows Shaggy to be a bit braver. I mainly see Fred kinda like a big brother to her. Since if they have known each other since APNSD, then he has seen her grow up. So I see him always jumping to be protective of her. And even more so as she became more beautiful and more danger prone. So he was so used to always looking out for her, trying to see her as a relationship seems a bit odd. I see them trying it, but not having it last long. Since them being together wouldn't really been to different than them normally. I mean, I have written some cute with them, but long term I don't see it lasting or it being just really close friends. And yeah, the 'perfect couple' concept is less fun to write. Daphne with Shaggy, it is far more fun to write, at least for me. With Daphne wanting to get her way... but with Shaggy's laid back nature, she would always win. So she doesn't really do it as much, which allows for cute interactions. Though I do see them being semi competitive with some things, like seeing who can eat the most pancake for breakfast, or racing to a restaurant to see who pays. Or fighting each other in a video games for house chores. And yeah, him being a bit braver, if the situation calls for it. Fred x Velma is my personal favorite. But I also see it as working the best. I think Velma needs in a relationship, someone she could rely on but in several different ways. If she was just looking for intelligence, she might have been seeing someone from when she was NASA. Being surrounded then by the best minds. But we also know that she is attracted to someone who is fit and in shape... because really why else would she had fallen for Johnny Bravo? XD I see her seeing someone who looks nice, has a good head on his shoulders, and would be able to push past her stubborn shields she puts up. Though she wouldn't actually ask for it, they would have to kind of know that she needs to be prodded past her comfort zones, though gently. Fred is a good match for that. He's not as smart as her, so she can overwhelm him with technobabble, but he's not stupid either. Able to challenge her mind, and working side by side with her on many things, and relying on her when it's over his head. And I bet Velma secretly would love to be a maiden, and treated as such. But to stubborn to ever admit it to herself, let alone anyone else. And I see Fred treating her like a princess sometimes, to make sure she is looked after and protected. And well, they could geek out together as well. Since she has to help him with his traps, since he probably doesn't build it all by himself.

I see what you are saying, but I like the original S/V and F/D pairing because that idea goes back all the way to the original series. 99% of the time the pairings are S/V and F/D, sometimes they can be questionable but not much. You can obviously write whatever type of fanfiction you want and I think its cool that you have an abstract view of the relationships in scooby doo, but I do think the regular pairings would make more sense because thats how they appear in the movies and tv shows.

Ultimately it's whatever paring/ship which floats your boat.

Actually S/D and F/V also go back to the original series too. Right down to What a Night for a Knight and the artwork for those pairings lining up. Every incarnation messes with F/D, S/V and S/D, F/V. It all depends on personal preference (and how one views the canon since even that is screwy) but to me F/V and S/D would be the best matches.

I agree its all what you want to see and think, if you believe shaggy and Daphne belong together than you can think that even if that is not nearly as prevalent as Daphne and Fred.

You know what I'd like to see? an episode where Shaggy, Scooby and Fred have to disguise themselves as women to investigate a mystery in a ladies only apartment building (scooby mainly because dogs aren't allowed in any more than men). It could be one long reference to the show bosom buddies. Shaggy could even mention seeing something like that happen on an old TV show.
