If they tried to do it, I feel it would end with Daphne choosing Fred because Fred would start to worry about losing her. Thus, Shaggy would be heartbroken, now knowing how it feels to have his heart ripped out "like he did to Velma"... and I honestly don't wish to see that. A Shaggy/Daphne/Fred love triangle. I don't want to see that either.

I think (and hope) that's the end of Daphne and Shaggy's love connection. It was strange, even knowing they were in a trance!

Having just watched the episode (thanks to ThatRainbowGirl) it is clear that Daphne did what she did believing him to be Fred. For Shaggy it was probably wish fulfilment that half of the boys in school had fantasised about, having a snog with Daphne. The more he went on about it the more I thought Daphne was going to deck him.

Oh my gosh, what is wrong with a little shaphne in a reincarnation of scooby doo?! We've had fraphne since the WB took over from Hanna-Barbra. 15 years (or what ever) of having the same pairing put together. It's not going to kill you fraphne fans to see daphne with another guy or Fred with another girl. I mean come on it seems that shaphne is the only pairing that became canon anyway.
--- sorry had to let that off of my chest---
Any who, what is wrong with a new pair anyway?

I don't think anyone was implying that there's anything wrong with it. Just that, judging from what we've seen so far, it's not going to happen in this series.

I mean come on it seems that shaphne is the only pairing that became canon anyway. I'm kind of confused about this. Fraphne has been movie canon (They were actually engaged in SD 2, but it was cut out, but wasn't that storyline in the SD 2 book?), and canon in SDMI (and the valentines day episode in WNSD could count, but I personally don't think it does). Also, Shelma are/were canon, and were together for about 10 episodes. Shaphne have never really been canon in the whole Scooby franchise. in 'The thirteen Ghosts of Scooby Doo", sure they were heavily hinted at, but it wasn't confirmed I don't think? And in my opinion, what happened between them is more one-sided and hardly counts because Shaggy thought he was Fred and Daphne thought he was Fred also.

As a Shaphne fan myself, I can see where you're coming from. I myself wouldn't want to see them handle it like they do with Fred and Daphne where they make things obvious. I think instances of Shaphne should be like they were in the old series, very subtle. Like showing how they get along, work together, are similar, or create intriging moments with each other.
