Thanks for the clarification jcb, my general feeling is that shipping belongs at sea or in fan-fiction, SD:MI handling of relationships was a wholly avoidable navigational accident, it was more Scooby Doo:Socially Dysfunctional, personally I very nearly didn't bother with the second half as I don't watch Scooby Doo cartoons for teen-angst soap opera (I don't watch anything for teen-angst soap opera). I know you had earlier said you were going to avoid this which is why I was a bit surprised with your above statement.
I like the ideas you were describing, a non-monster episode would have been a nice change, you could see a them spoiling a holiday as they were too busy looking for/expecting a mystery to occur. Would have been a blast.

Would have been a blast. Ha! Yeah, that was kind of the idea for the first one of these I wanted to do. The gang make a decision NOT to solve a mystery that day and start to lose their minds, investigating each other and not knowing what to do (as a group) together without a mystery. They change their minds and decide they NEED a mystery (especially for Fred) and go looking for one - but can't find one. That was the basic idea. I used some of these elements in season two for other episodes, but this was going to be a big, fun special episode totally focused on the characters learning about each other while NOT being chased by a monster. Oh well.
