In general we are in the middle of a change up one way or another. So our old patterns may be only "stalled" or been "replaced". It's just too early to tell. Been out of the Scooby loop for a few months, and since checking in today I've read a couple comments like this one. Has there been some reorganization at Warner or something, or some change in their products/marketing approach? I was surprised there wasn't much new in the New Releases section since I last checked in last year. Wasn't sure if there was some business change that's being worked through before they put more in the pipeline, or if maybe they're shifting their focus from 'traditional' products like Animated DTV Movie/Series releases to Legos/Comics/this HB Universe, etc.? I guess there's a good bit of Scooby activity, just not the kind of stuff I usually get into. Mark Well one hand we had a pattern going every year since 2012 of 2 new Scooby movies, 1 new Tom and Jerry movie, and 2 specials (of varied) per year. This year so far appears to be the first year we aren't getting that or if we are some of the items have had no leaks involved around them. However we also have seen the start of a Scooby Doo Lego movie franchise, this of course could have rearranged the pattern. Also the Scooby WWE sequel apparently had to be pushed back to edited very last minute. This also could have altered the plan. They also are now full out planning a Hanna Barbera theatrical plan. This too could now have some of the money and resources that used to go to the dtv line. As far as old releases go, things are so far looking good for the whole Hanna Barbera picture. While since 2012 we had gotten only one that "counted" for collectors (Laff-a-lympics in 2012, Tom and Jerry Kids in 2013, Flintstone Kids in 2014) at retail. Last year we got two in Scooby and Scrappy and Tom and Jerry Gene Deitch era. We haven't gotten any announcements yet for this year but given this is an olympic year, we have good reason to believe there could be a laff-a-lympics set. Also the return to a season set has made us question how many more 13 Spooky Tales sets there will be. I personally have said in the past some of these may be stalling cash grabs, but if this is true at some point they would have gotten enough. We could have reached that point. And while the Scooby side appears to all be at retail from Warner Home Video, Warner Archive is still heavily supplementing the Hanna Barbera releases. This year they already finished off Centurions from the Ruby Spears side. Devlin came out this week. The New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is coming out next month. And based on their recent podcasts it seems a lock there are more on the way.

Also I forgot to mention. We also have been discussing that in the past WHV usually put out all of it's press releases at a steady path of 3-4 months in advance. They have been a bit less organized this year, but not anything too drastic. But it gives the impression something/s have caused the schedule to be a little disheveled compared to most years.

Could some of the masters have gotten ruined? I'm still wondering since the quality of TNSDMysteries episodes released on the "13 Spooky" sets really varies.

No. Some things such as intros/bumpers/etc (where they exist) might be lost/ruined but all the episodes themselves should be in the vault with usable prints/elements to make new long lasting masters. Where this gets tricky is that the people who run the different sections of WB's home media side have different policies on what is acceptable to use for a release (The decisions made on the releases that you buy in stores, the releases you buy from the archive and the digital releases you buy on itunes or Amazon are all headed up by different people with varying ideas) I've maintained from the get-go that I felt a lot of these sets were being utilized as time killer and money harvesters to pay for rights clearances and remastering costs. Such as none of these sets ever eliminated the need for any of the potential season sets. Last year's Scooby and Scrappy set I think proved they never gave up on those sets they just stalled them. I think there may be a chance though that one series specifically needs more remastering than the others, so it's not been utilized as much. But as long as the brand as a whole keep selling well enough, it's only going to take time for them to dig deeper. And we're doing fairly well right now, if S.C.O.O.B. can bring about a bit more of a marketing push, I think we might even see that increase.

I hope you're right. There's a lot we're still waiting on. The missing parts of TNSDMovies and Laff-o-lympics, as well as the full season of TNSDMysteries. Various seasons of Scrappy as well but I'd be okay if those weren't released.
September is when a couple of the Spooky Tales were released in 2013. Maybe we'll hear something soon. They've had what... three years?

Whoops, right. So all the Scrappy seasons seem to be on iTunes so they've kind of already have been released.

Well the digital section used to be maverick, as in it did what it wanted regardless of what the regular sections wanted to do. So they offered some things there first that either WHV or WA eventually put out to dvd themselves. Them being available to digital doesn't really effect their plans or status for a dvd release (and technically for those that count, bluray either)
However Warner's press releases are now in the right time frame. If there is a Laff-a-lympics set for this year it has to be announced within the next week or so. If we don't hear anything I will assume it won't be this year they finish that off. But will leave us to wonder what the store-side is going to be putting out this year.
The 13 Spooky Tales sets might be done, or at least done with new specials. Since we don't seem to have heard any leaks about any new ones. (that of course may not matter though), but I doubt a year will pass without any new HB releases at all from WHV. So I still think we'll have something to show for it by years end.
EDIT: I fully stand by this given today we got press releases for the Scooby movie that comes out in early August and WB also released a press release for a tv series being released in early September. If they are in that time frame, it's still possible for the Laff-a-lympics But i'll throw out if we still don't hear about it by say the 17th, I don't think that is this year's set. They wouldn't release it and not have be in time for the games. That would just be a marketing no-no.

TVShowsonDVD.com will usually post all the new tv show press releases. And other tech sites carry them too.

The date passed as to what I expected would be a cut-off as per a Laff-a-lympics release. So now I assume we wait to hear about a non-Laff-a-lympics release. As there's still several months of 2016 for them to announce, and I don't think anything that is left has any marketing tie-ins left in the year. So that basically opens up the field to anything.
The only other thing we may consider is what if something is an exclusive? Some sites don't always list those until they've got a wide release. Wasn't the one Scooby set last year a Walmart exclusive at first? While I've seen NOTHING to indicate this is the case right now, I suppose it is something to consider.

Favorite Frights" set released last September was originally a Target exclusive, but I believe it got a wide release a few months later. Hopefully you're right and maybe we'll get a Wal-Mart or Target exclusive announced soon, although I think you're right that a Laff a Lympics set is unlikely even for a store exclusive release at this point.

Does anyone else find it odd we haven't heard anything about any new 13 Spooky Tales sets coming out? I wonder if WB has stopped making them...
