i actually fell asleep once and dreamt i was at this awesome concert where i had to sing every theme tune i can remember and when it came to josie and the pussycats it got so out of control i started to sing in real time i love both pussycat variations but unfortunately i have not seen the film although i have heard very very good things about it i think ill look for it on dvd next week out of all the formulaic hanna - barbera animated shows of the day Scooby doo and Josie and the pussycats definitely worked the best although i do like the other Scooby clones too Speed Buggy , Jabberjaw , Goober and the Ghost Chasers , Captain Caveman , Funky Phantom etc I think Scooby-Doo, Josie and Speed Buggy were the best.

That is a mixed bag. While WB owns the shows, they don't own the licensed characters. So any attempt post that would need a new agreement. Normally this would be where people would say "don't hold your breath". But at this point I would suspect it's not impossible. As a lot of the older licenses Hanna Barbera shows aren't exactly having much done with them. Should WB ever come calling, some of them might very well be in agreeable terms. So while I wouldn't ever tell anyone I think the odds are good, I wouldn't dimiss it.
But even then I'd more suspect something like that to happen in the dtv things, and not the reboots on CN. Some of us have expressed much scorn for the way MI treated the older characters.
Sidebar:
Here's a question I pose to anyone here that might be more legal-to-do then I. I believe in a lot of cases such as show's where the characters are licensed, it's free for them to cut and use parts of it for advertising. But i'm curious if this is true for these. Because I notice now looking back at Cartoon Network older ads, some characters only ever appeared in bumpers from clips from the original show, but others they actually animated new sequences specific for bumpers. I can't help but feel that perhaps because some of which they would have to had pay again for rights.

I'm not sure about your question because I'm not very legal myself but thanks for shedding some light on the difference between owning the shows and characters. I still don't think it makes much sense that HB can't release The Haunted Show Boat on DVD because Josie and the Pussycats was their show, you know? But now that you mention it, it's probably a detail legality of Archie having character ownership. I definitely wouldn't hold my breath for any of the JatPC characters appearing in new crossover medium, though. While HB still owns the original show, Archie owns the characters and, as I said before, Archie is very, very strict with their ownership. YES! Yes you should; I think you'd really like it.

Sadly we can't answer much definitively on the New Scooby Movies, because we've never heard officially which of the missing nine are the problem. It could be only one, it could be all nine or anywhere in between.
It would make a logical guess that IF there were problems with the Josie and Addams Family episodes those are probably worked out by now given WB has been selling Josie and Addams Family DVDs for years now. The major discrepensy with a lot of these older shows is they had their original contracts written before "home video" was a thing. And if the langage wasn't clear enough, they need to renegotiate the terms before they can be put on DVD. But a New Scooby Movies set will probably ONLY happen if all nine episodes can be on it
Internet rumor land seems to think Jerry Reed's estate may be the real holdout, but I don't want to accuse them of anything i've never seen said anywhere outside of a rumor mill.
