Well, I'm still predicting that it will happen, because that's the only thing I can see in the future right now, as far as another series goes. I mean they've already made episodes with that style- "Spooky Games" and "Haunted Holidays".

I'm not sure you can count spooky games and haunted holidays as a guaranteed precursor to a new series since those were designed to add value to sell DVD compilations. They are in the same style as the DTVs since its the same team working on them and it's cheaper to not have to develop a new style for this situation.
If WB is going to going for something new, I don't think any of us could predict exactly what they would have in mind....I mean who could have possibly correctly predicted "Get a Clue" as the last 11 episodes of "What's New" were getting ready to air? We can all speculate, come up with theories, beg the powers that be for what we hope for and whatnot, but we can't even really assume that they will go the logical route.

[ I don't see the need for them to pair everybody up and try every possible relationship there is. I think things should just be left alone if they're not broken. I want things to stay how they have been. ... I don't see the need for drama and complications. I'm minded to agree with you. Leave the paring up to fan fictions.

I'm not saying it's a guarantee. I'm just saying that's what my prediction is. We will just have to wait to see.

I'm minded to agree with you. Leave the paring up to fan fictions. Thanks. Hints and the like are fine, the Fred/Daphne stuff in the recent films is almost a running joke now, but anything more and people just get too worked-up over it. There's more than enough bile and nastiness in the FanFiction boards over relationships in Scooby Doo to go around and I wouldn't want to see it here.

Network execs will view that as just what they had with Mystery inc which didn't perform at the ratings levels desired. Is there a source that stated they weren't pleased with the ratings?

I'm not finding a direct article, but as episodes were airing, it was mentioned in various places how first run eps of mystery inc were losing in the ratings to reruns of sponge bob and the like to the target key demographics. If you can look up air dates nielsen ratings of the later half of season one you'll see what I mean. Then look at the numbers that Adventure Time and Regular Show pulled in the same time slots, which are significantly greater.

Firstly, I'm not surprised to hear that. Adventure Time and Regular Show are 15 minute segments. Which honestly are far easier to hold anybody's attention. It's a shame that sometimes corporate entities don't take that into consideration. I also think the 2:00 timeslot it's in now isn't really appropriate. I think a little later would be preferable.

I wonder if there will be another Scooby show that has 15 minute segments.

Unfortunately 2pm is where the show got dumped when it lost it's prime time evening slot...another result of the ratings. But from what I've heard on twitter from some of the creators is that it's doing ok there (not "force a third season" ok enough, mind you)
Network execs might very well be taking "15 minute segments" into consideration in the sense that they are being better received than certain 1/2 hour format programming. Maybe as Lae brought up, future Scooby might do well to retry the 15 minute structure.

(though that, of course, already is telling about the strength of the ratings) Also, I tried to imagine a 15 minute Scooby Show, and I can't imagine I'd want any part of that. The mysteries would be so brief it wouldn't be worth it.

Yea, I can't really see 15 minute Scooby episodes happening today.

Well, to be fair, Fred and Daphne were only hinted at in the originals. HB never said "Hey, these two are together" to my knowledge. They were very subtle with it. It wasn't until "Zombie Island" and beyond that their relationship became more obvious. Just my two cents. I don't think anyone said that fraphne has been canon since the beginning of the show, but i agree, it was hinted with a lot.
