I once played a game and looked through a number of WNSD episode with a Shelma then a Frelma hat on and depending on my POV I could find scenes to back up whatever my 'preference was (I didn't do the others as I have other things to do). So depending upon you particular ship you will see things to support your viewpoint (the proper term for this is confirmation bias). I have never felt that the Scooby Doo franchise was that obsessed with all things canonical (the high art of of that would be something like Star Trek). As for things 'official' that is up to the owner of the franchise, first HB now WB. So whatever WB do with the parings in Season is up to them (they own it after all) but that should not stop you writing or liking Fraphne, Frelma, Shaphne, Shelma, Delma, Shred or any other paring that works in the story.

I'm not that passionate about it, I'm just fed up with this new scooby series. I like it and everything it's got that dark edge that I like. But in this series it makes no sense to me. First we have abusive relationships and fraphne all over again. We get it you like fraphne at WB but I'm sick and tired of watching it all the time. Can't I get a good hint at a pairing that I like for once?
Second of all I think it is canon. After all shaggy and daphne were living together and implied to sharing a bed before time Warner took over. I take what the creators had in mind before what the new company had in mind.

I take what the creators had in mind before what the new company had in mind. It isn't really canon, I mean when I have a few very close guy friends (and bare in mind I'm 15), and they stay over all the time and we're friends and nothing more. And shaphne has never been confirmed, so yeah, basically it's not canon.

Well, to be fair, Fred and Daphne were only hinted at in the originals. HB never said "Hey, these two are together" to my knowledge. They were very subtle with it. It wasn't until "Zombie Island" and beyond that their relationship became more obvious. Just my two cents.

ShaphneLover- Why are you against Fred and Daphne being together so much? It's been hinted at since the begining of the franchise. With Fred saying, "Let's split up gang.. Daphne, you come with me." (not an exact quote, but you get what I mean). No, they never said "Hey we're boyfriend and girlfriend.". But it has been the most obvious relationship in my opinion.

I'm not against it, I'm just sick and tired of watching it in every reincarnation of Scooby Doo. I loved fraphne until I watched the SD:MI series. Then it became a little out of hand for me. Then I watched 13 Ghosts and started to like shaphne.

I felt like fraphne hadn't really been handled as a real "relationship" until SD: MI. Until then it was sort of hinted at. I think fraphne has been hilarious to watch in SD: MI. I agree that there should be an attempt to change things up in the future, but I also don't see much evidence (or reason) for Daphne and Shaggy to get together. Though I guess there's more support there than if somebody tried to pair Velma and Fred.
Still, people should be open to trying different pairings in future shows, just for the sake of variety.

In my opinion, the way they handled Fraphne in MI was... really hard to look at. There were some cute moments but sometimes it just seemed kinda sad. Ditto with the Shelma.
The reason some people like Shaphne is because of the shows where it was only her and Shaggy as the humans in the gang. And to be fair, there were a few hints at it. I don't think anyone could imply Shaphne could take place in MI since the relationship there is pretty much set in stone.

Velma with the rubber bands, Fred more into traps then into a girl? That's not healthy. That is particually one reason why I like Shaphhe, they were the only humans. They have been implied to be dating (just like Fraphne was). I don't care if it's in SD:MI because to me that seems more like a published fanfiction. I would like to see it more in other versions of the series.

I don't see the need for them to pair everybody up and try every possible relationship there is. I think things should just be left alone if they're not broken. I want things to stay how they have been. That's one reason why SDMI is not one of my favorite series. I want things to be kept simple. I don't see the need for drama and complications.

It's not a need to do that, it's a need to avoid stagnation.See, the reason I loved SD:MI is because it combated the stagnation and mediocrity I had come to view as being all the franchise had to offer. : /

Fortunately or unfortunately, change is inevitable, especially in the entertainment industry. For a franchise to last 43 years it has to go through different iterations, then get a "retro nostalgia revival", then cycle through changes again.
I think whatever Scooby show comes after Mystery Inc, it won't be the traditional "gang of 5 teenagers solving a mystery". Network execs will view that as just what they had with Mystery inc which didn't perform at the ratings levels desired. So there will have to be a new hook. This kind of logic is why we got "Get a Clue" after "What's New". We might be due for a new Laff-a-lympics type format of something that incorporates a ton of Hanna Barbara properties all together. CN has to know about the overwhelmingly positive buzz about MI's franchise crossover/guest-type episodes.

I know that change is bound to happen. But I don't see the need for that much change. I like how these latest movies have been (Camp Scare, etc.). I wouldn't be surprised if a series like that comes as the next.

As much as I would love to see a "camp scare"-esque series in the style & format of the most recent DTVs (except music of the vampire), I don't know what it would take to convince a network executive that it would perform better than Mystery Inc has.
As frightening as it may be, WB would have an easier time selling a new musical series that was formatted like a weekly 1/2 version of music of the vampire (being a musical series being the selling hook). Executives would be more willing to take a chance on that than more of the "too similar".
