Do you like Casey Kasem or Matthew Lillard better as Shaggy?

I personally like Casey Kasem better, only because he played Shaggy in every other show.

Kasem will always be identified as Shaggy, but you know what? Lillard's really grown on me because after a while, it's hard to tell that much of a difference. I really think if someone who hasn't seen Scooby Doo in a long time were to see SD:MI not knowing about the voice actor's change, they'd think it was still Kasem, until they were told it was Lillard. Lillard's been that good.

Casey Kasem is my favorite Shaggy, but I do think Matthew Lillard was born to play live action Shaggy and he's doing a great job with the voice of Shaggy for SD:MI.
Speaking of Casey Kasem, I tried to get him to do an interview, but all he sent me back was the unanswered questions and a signed picture of himself. Oh well!

Btw, have you checked your PM, ScoobyAddict? I wanted to ask you something.

Casey Kasem's my favorite, with Matthew Lillard a close second. In recent years, Kasem's Shaggy has sounded rather old and tired (hey, he was near retirement at the time!), but Lillard's Shaggy makes him sound hip and young again!
But besides that, Kasem is a really talented guy, and when Shaggy would do vocal impressions/sound effects, Kasem was the one responsible for making them sound good, Kasem even does a good job imitating a train!

I couldn`t agree more with everything you said. I think Mathew Lillard was born to play Shaggy! Live action and voice acting. He just suits him so well. It`s not awkward or uncomfortable for him you can tell.

Casey Kasem. I also like Scott Innes better than Lillard for the role.

Obviously Casey Kasem defined the role and is tops, but I honestly prefer Lillard over "later in his career" Kasem such as his performances in What's New and the pre-Lillard DTVs. I don't mind Innes either, but someone has to come in last in this ranking unfortunately.
Lillard has been a great successor to Kasem.

I agree that Casey was starting to sound too old for the part. I would have perferred Scott Innes to be a successor to Casey though. Scott sounds closer to Casey to me.
