Both "Scooby-Doo" and "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?" are incomplete on DC and Amazon/Comixology.
"Scooby-Doo" only has 73 of the 159 issues listed on DC (87-159), while Amazon/Comixology only has 50 issues (33-75, 78-84). They can't even be bothered to have consecutive issues within their limited selection.
While "Where Are You?" does list all 116 issues on DC, the Amazon/Comixology selections are much more slim at 77 issues (40-116). At least with this series, they didn't skip any issues beyond the first 39.
And don't even get me started on trades. Yes, they released that 30-story collection for the 50th anniversary that mostly comprised of "Scooby-Doo" reprints, with some "Where Are You?" and "Team-Up" thrown in for good measure. But neither of the original two series are collected, while all subsequent series (Team-Up, Apocalypse, Batman/Scooby-Doo Mysteries) have been.
Actually, it's a bit disingenuous to say they haven't been collected. The first 30 issues of "Scooby-Doo" were collected in six volumes, and there were four more volumes that cherry-picked random stories from the first 49 issues released before that. And DC did release ONE trade paperback for "Where Are You", which collected the first six issues. But that's it.
I'm sure physical buyers have no issues getting their hands on single issues, but not only do I prefer trades, I also prefer digital. And I wish DC would stop ignoring the Scooby comics on their digital platforms.
Out of everything DC Comics has published, 129 issues of "Scooby-Doo" have yet to be collected into trades, 110 issues of "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?" have yet to be collected into trades, all three issues of "Scooby-Doo! Mystery Inc." have yet to be collected in a digital trade, and the "Puppy Power!" one-shot starring Scrappy-Doo has yet to be collected into a trade. (I'm not counting the "Fun Park Phantom" and "Mystery Card Caper" promo one-shots, although I have ordered the physical copies for my own collection.) That's 243 out 377 stories that have yet to be collected for fans! 64% of DC Comics' "Scooby-Doo" offerings remain unavailable to fans like me who prefer digital trade paperbacks. And that's a lot of money that they're missing out on.
I've tried Tweeting out to both companies, DC and Comixology, but being just one person with barely any followers Tweeting about comics focusing on a relatively modest IP, I've obviously had no luck. Does anybody know what, if anything, we can do?
