I thought they did a great job with this special. It felt like a perfect mix of an homage, parody and 'making-of' special. The humor was on point with the exception of the joke where Scooby pees in the Banana Splits suit, and of course the Scrappy joke they've been milking for 19 years (I get some people hate Scrappy, but come on. It's just not funny). I was quite surprised to hear Velma say that Scooby was a nudist haha. "Snagglepuss is extremely litigious!" is definitely my favorite quote though. They did a nice job making the humor funny for adults without getting overly mature, as I know some people worried. Daphne dating Captain Caveman was interesting. I thought the live-action/animation mix made it feel a lot like The Scooby-Doo Project. I didn't even mind the ghost looking corny. The villain was easy to guess, but I did find the whole concept of there being a sixth character who was cut out quite amusing. Scooby using someone he idolized as his "spit bucket cleaner" was super mean of him lol. The cast/writer interviews were cool, and I particularly enjoyed David Silverman (as a Simpsons fan) and Karamo. Did anyone else notice Iain Armitage was just completely cut with no explanation? He was announced as a guest star, but he never appeared anywhere in the special and wasn't in the credits either.
This really felt like a love letter to the Scooby franchise. While I wasn't completely blown away or anything, it was a very cute 60 minutes of content and was a lot of fun to watch.

I don't want to be a stick in the mud, but this special was embarrassing. People tease the original material for being on a tight budget, but this was just downright cheap. The interviews with Silverman, Cervone, Welker, and others, were the bright spots, but that's it. I'd go on, but that would be wasting even more time on the program.

I think the cheapness was the point though the animation on the characters was replicating the 60s animation and the costume the villain wore I think they were parodying or making fun of the fact that in the animated scooby doo stuff when the villain puts on a cheap halloween costume they still look like a real monster while in real life when a villain puts a cheap costume on it looks obviously fake.

I thought the special was a disgrace to the Scooby franchise. First of all, WB took credit for creating Scooby-Doo. And instead of using the 52 years of content they had available, they made stuff up. The people they used as the voice coach, spit bucket handler, costume designer, Lazlo, etc. weren’t even old enough to have been part of the original series. We did a special panel episode on it if anyone is interested in the rest of our thoughts, but this was not a tribute to the gang by any means. 😢 youtu.be/MHHJiKvQrZ8

And Cameron made a great point when he mentioned what the VA's feelings possibly were regarding this and the script. I can imagine that when you've been one of the main voices of a franchise for so long and/or from its start, there are some instances where you have this emotional/mental tug-of-war between "this is my job/paycheck" and "wait, what am I/is this character saying?"

Yeah, I’m sticking by that. Lol This wasn’t a tribute at all, they made stuff up that made no sense. It really was sad to see them treat the characters the way they did.

I think this special was fun for what it was is it perfect? no some of the jokes didn't land and some of the live action stuff was awkward and some what cringy but yeah this special was fun. The animation on the scooby gang was cheap looking but I don't consider that a negative because that's what they were going for their was also some adult jokes too but it was the CW I expected that but yeah this special was fun.

I watched this when i was on, but haven't been online much since. So this is totally late to the party.
Overall the special reminded me very much of the old Cartoon Network, and to be honest that also meant I was having fun but not always agreeing with the humor. Felt more like extended bumpers that could have been around a marathon and compiled at the end.
Though the idea of the Snow Ghost chasing around Banana Splits in live action is something I never knew I wanted but am thankful to have seen.

I haven't seen this and I'm not sure I want to or even have a way to. I will say this: ever since AT&T bought Warner, we've gotten more Scooby merchandise and I'm happy about that, even if some of the recent films and specials have been sub-par.

I wasn't impressed. I didn't really like how it was a mixture of real behind-the-scenes and fake behind-the-scenes. I would have preferred it if they picked one or the other; it's not that the fake stuff seemed real, it was obviously fake and goofy, but it just made for a weird tone that I wasn't fond of. Very skippable if you're not a completionist like me.

It was cute, but I wasn't a fan. Like cometcrystal said, they tried to blend fake behind the scenes stuff with real world behind the scenes stuff, and it just didn't land.
Also, it's 2021. Can we please stop treating Scrappy-Doo like the plague? You either don't bring him up, or address him head-on. Besides, his popularity is growing. Both from Scooby Apocalypse and because people are just tired of the poor puppy getting ganged up on.
