Here are my rankings of the New Scooby Doo Movies guest stars
19. Jeannie and co.- Didn't mind the addition of Jeannie or those two teenagers but Babu makes this an easy choice for last place. Man he is annoying
18. Three Stooges- I didn't hate them as much as many do, but their interactions with the gang don't feel the same. They don't feel nearly as involved with the gang as anyone else do and they are just there to be stupid. Plus their episodes drag on more than just about any other episodes (even if I have a soft spot for Ghastly Ghost Town) so their appearances did not do the episodes any favor
17. Sandy Duncan- After the one truly annoying guest star in Babu and the three stooges are gone, these rankings are now based off of how well they fit in with the dynamic of the gang and the entertainment value. Sandy Duncan is not bad at all but she doesn't seem to add as much as most
16. Phyllis Diller- Had some pretty funny moments, but not much beyond that and the fact that she is so gullible got pretty old
15. Addams Family- Most would probably place them higher but based on the previously mentioned criteria this is where they fall for me
14. Cass Elliot- She would be higher on this list if it weren't for the fat jokes that plagued her episode and she made a lot of them
13. Jerry Reed- Reed was pretty good in my opinion but this is about as high as he can get with how little he is in the episode
12. Tim Conway- Tim Conway was a lot of fun, but middle of the pack feels about right
11. Don Adams- I really liked his performances throughout the episode. Very funny but not in the acting cowardly way that other guest stars go about it Great stuff
But now for the top 10...
10. Davy Jones- Loved how well he fit in with the gang, even causing the split up groups to give us a unique look with Shaggy, Fred, and Scooby altogether
9. Speed Buggy and friends- This one used to be a lot higher, but it has to be compared to another mystery solving gang which we will get to later. Other than that, I feel they fit in well with the gang for basically an extended Scooby Doo gang for the episode
8. Don Knotts- Most will probably have this one higher than me, but that says a lot more about how much i like the ones higher because Knotts's performance is just as good as given credit for
7. Dick Van Dyke- An excellent performance. Absolutely hilarious but not over the top and somehow gave the gang room to shine while still being what makes the episode
6. Laurel and Hardy- Easily two of the funniest guest stars. They fit in very well with the gang
5. Josie and the Pussycats- These two teams teaming up is just so much fun. For such a large group to feel like they are just a part of the team is just fantastic
4. Batman and Robin- It was so hard to keep them out of the top 3 but it is more about the ones in the top 3 than them
3. Sonny and Cher. They just did so good it's crazy. The writers nailed their dynamic
2. Jonathan Winters- The perfect singular guest star. He was perfect in this performance with his humor fitting in so well with Shaggy and Scooby and making the perfect team (or almost the perfect team...)
1. The Harlem Globetrotters of course- No, the perfect team is Shaggy, Scooby, Meadowlark, and Curly period. They add so much to every episode they are in and are a big reason the Lochness Mess is both this series' fan favorite and a prime example of a perfect Scooby Doo episode. They are without a doubt my number 1
