I'm still under the impression Warner doesn't wanna touch the majority of at least the '84 episodes because of how badly H-B's primitive digital ink and paint work has aged. Their conversion to Boomerang for TNSDMysteries looks okay though. If that's the best resolution they have, that's okay with me. Perhaps it was scattered though. The Star Creature Scrappy episode is massively lower res than other episodes of the series on iTunes (and DVD?). Not sure if an error or if that certain episode was digitally painted.

That animation was not done with cels? It was, but it was colored with a pre-photoshop '80s computer program. It couldn't support even the standard DVD picture specifications we have now. We are unsure if the black and white cels were saved.
Hanna Barbera also basically invented a mechanical Adobe Flash/Toonboom, for automated cutout animation, but they never used it.
