That would be a great idea, and I would definitely watch it. Out of curiosity, when they refer to the queer/ gay/ lesbian/ etc community, which of the Hex girls are implied to be in a relationship? Then again the relationship between Velma and Marcie was easily the best relationship in Mystery Inc, so if they have two of the Hex girls together, openly, it would be fine, if they handle it as well as Velma-Marcie.

This is the best article written for Scooby's 50th

This is definitely an interesting article. I also know of someone who I did in my fan spotlights for my blog in September that became a goth because of the Hex Girls, so it's no doubt that they are pretty huge icons!

I do think there's something to the fact that The Hex Girls are regarded with suspicion for being "weird" and "different" but turn out to just be caring people living life their own way. Rick Copp is gay though I doubt he intended it to be a metaphor but there's still something there.

There was nothing open about Marcie and Velma, everything was very subtle between them. If one of the writers didn’t state that there was a romantic relationship I wouldn’t have thought about it. Also them being queer doesn’t necessarily mean any of them is in a relationship with the other, it’s just the vibe and introduction to kids to the grungy shades of femme culture that made em iconic for the lgbt community. The way they are so open about their edginess and comfortable in their own skin at the same time is inspiring for younger queer women who are trying to break out from gender expectations. But yeah if there was any sort of relationship between the three I hope they would be more blunt about it like they are slowly introducing gay characters on Nickelodeon and the modern Cartoon Network shows.

Iconic, gothic queens of the LGBT community. I love the idea of a Hex Girls spin-off.

I'm confused, when has it ever been said the Hex Girls were queer?

I'm confused, when has it ever been said the Hex Girls were queer? Funny you should ask that. Until recently, nowhere. However, that Daphne & Velma novel slipped under the radar just this month and does officially portray Thorn as gay

I haven't read that yet but it's on my wishlist. How good is it? It's incredible Good. I'll admit I was a bit apprehensive because the dtv film wasn't that good, but I've been intrigued since they announced the book. Will have to nab a copy soon then.

I would absolutely love a Hex Girls spin-off. Being part of the LGBT community myself, I would love to see representation of that in Scooby. It’s so important for younger audiences to see representations of themselves, including if they’re LGBT. *scurries to twitter to retweet*

There is an adorable scene involving The Hex Girls
