Am I the only one who noticed the living skeleton found to have been controlling the Ghost of Senor Otero... ...bears a striking resemblance to the Sky Skeleton from the 1979 "Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo" episode "The Scary Sky Skeleton?" I'm pretty sure this was an intentional homage, given how this movie and "Legend of the Vampire" were done as retro homages to the 1969-1979 Scooby-Doo cartoons, what with the original voice cast (save the late Don Messick), the classic sound effects and the remixed music, and using the older Hanna-Barbera/Iwao Takamoto-esque design style and more cartoonish feel. This wouldn't surprise me, since "Legend of the Vampire" had one of the Shark men from "The Secret of Shark Island" appearing at the start. Also, the skull masks seen in "Pirates Ahoy" a few movies later were drawn in a more realistic and detailed manner, compared to the skull mask the villain here had on, but that's probably because "Pirates Ahoy" was animated in the Sander Schwartz/"What's New Scooby-Doo" style where people and things were a lot more realistic-looking (except for Shaggy and Scooby, of course.) Just an observation.
