There's little bits and pieces that infer Mark Banker's involvement as being involved in Be Cool (mostly on Twitter). On IMDb, he's listed as producer and writer, but they fail to mention this is an uncredited role. So, if I've been wondering for a while what's the deal with the quiet involvement (or specifically somewhat quiet acknowledgement) of Mark's work on the show. I know a lot of the credit goes to JCB and Zac, among others, but Mark just one of those others? Did CN and/or WB forbade his credit or maybe Mark requested not to be credited? The couple of interviews I've read from JCB don't happen to mention what he did (although if you mention one person, you'd probably have to name everyone). He sounds like he may be an unsung hero or something of Be Cool. What's the deal with that?

It's a long story, but basically, the "deal" is a few months after Zac and I developed the show (I headed up the writing, finding the new characterizations, the comedic tone and voice of the show, etc.), created a 2 minute test to show how the new tone and style would work, and I began outlining and writing "Mystery 101," WB brought in Mark (who is a friend of mine) to be story editor and producer since he had a lot of experience on 22-minute scripted animated shows (more than I did, at least). Mark is an extremely talented writer and veteran story editor but I think the specificity of the comedic tone and voice I created (that WB loved) were a little stifling to his own style of writing - it wasn't a good fit, as they say - so he left after a few months.
