Every new series they aren't allowed to mention him lol. Sad, I'm one of the few Scooby fans who thinks the scrappy shows is one of my favorites ARA.

It's pretty much public knowledge that he wasn't overly liked. I don't really have much of an opinion. I mean he was annoying, sure but on the other hand 13 Ghosts and Boo Brothers are some of my favorite Scooby media.

Define "not allowed"?
Mystery Incorporated mentioned him negative. Goblin King had a scene with Scrappy dolls that can be interpreted one of two ways.
I don't think it's that they aren't allowed. Writers that weren't as big of fans of his probably just don't want to write him. Plus in the age where the DTV films have been using characters not seen in years and some of questionable fame, I don't really buy they can't use him if they wanted too.

I think it depends on the writers and crew of every new Scooby show. The current crew is probably just people who only watched the 1969-early 1970's shows. I could see this generation of kids liking Scrappy if they used him.

scrappy had his time, but hes become the iconic ' annoying kid sidekick' that many shows try and stay away from.

I hate Scrappy, he is the worst main character ever (IMO).

Scrappy was introduced in 1979, so now they would be 25, which is around the same age as most crew members. So most of the crew probably would've seen Scrappy as a kid.

He was always forcing Scooby and Shaggy around in the original which got annoying while Scrappy and Daphne only encouraged them. I think it depends on the writers and crew of every new Scooby show. So most of the crew probably would've seen Scrappy as a kid. I meant they could of been watching re-runs of the shows before Scrappy. People born in 1979 would be 36 now not 25. Crew members could of also been watching re-runs in the 1990's on CN for their shows.

I don't really think age is that applicable here. Just because they grew up in that era doesn't mean that's their favorite era or the era they prefer to emulate. That being said while Scrappy isn't there, there have been plenty of things in the dtv series that seem to be odes to the 80s era.

Like him being the villain in the 2002 movie, and his statue in Mystery Inc. I wasn't really talking about odes to Scrappy. I was talking about odes to the era of Scooby Doo and the studio itself. There's a lot of examples in Stage Fright that define 80s Scooby Doo more than it does 70s Scooby Doo. Such as so many workings of Gaston Leroux concepts. Such as when Scooby plots were based on classic books in the 80s. Or how in the end it turns into a short case with a real jewel thief, Scooby had that kind of bad guy in some of the 80s episode. And more recently in the Kiss movie, the idea of Scooby and guest stars and Kiss's super powers come out of the 70s, yet a lot of the designs seem to be going for 80s Hanna Barbera feel. It's reasons like this I say that the people writing have some care for the 80s, even if one of them isn't Scrappy. Plus the fact that different parties write/produce these different productions leave room for different people to want to emphasize things. Will one of them one day be Scrappy? Maybe, Maybe not. But I don't think there's any cardinal rule they can't do it.

Scrappy is one of the most unfairly treated characters of all time. He gave the franchise a much-needed boost in the arm when he first appeared, and his character evolved somewhat with each new show.
The only series he was in that could really be described as bad would be the 5-minute monster-free shorts, and that was largely a fault of the writers.

Maybe Scrappy will return well written in the 2018 movie and WB will release the unreleased Scrappy seasons on DVD over the next few years.
