I'm only 8 minutes in, not even through the credit sequence, and this is already becoming one of my favorite movies. I can't put my finger on it, but it's unlike any Scooby movie...ever, if I dare be so bold?
I did the digital download, so I don't have a copy to which to link.
Non-spoilers: - Much of what has been built in the last 6-8 is gone. The visual style has evolved, and while a little rough around the edges, I would like to think that the kinks will be worked out, much like the style improved in the movies following 'Abracadabra Doo'. - It has an old-school feel about it, both in plot and substance. - Best use of Fraphne I've ever seen. It's hard to describe, but it's like they have chemistry rooted in friendship, and not entirely romance. One particular scene illustrates my point, and if it had been in other recent films, we'd be inclined to make a big deal about it. I think even the detractors might not dislike the presentation this time around. - A lot of the plot devices in this movie remind me of SDMI, even the animation, but a lot of the mistakes made there are cleaned up here. - I have a sinking feeling that this movie might hint at the comedic direction of BCSD, and if so, I have total confidence in the new series. - I will warn y'all, there is a fart scene, but I implore you to not let it get in the way of the rest of the movie.
