I would not take any character out, I think they all make the show better. I agree! I was going to say someone who walks by in the background, that nobody will notice is gone, but I guess Doo was talking about the main 5.

Yep, only the main 5.

In that case I can't do it.

Out of the main cast, there's no way I'd dare to even try removing anyone. While I may prefer some of them over the others, the five of them are all a team. They're five parts of a whole. Take away one part and the rest won't function right.

If you had to pick a character to take off the show who would it be? scrappy. And if I can't pick Scrappy....FlimFlam ;D But I'd find a way to pick Scrappy no matter the rules. (or eat him, as stated on the "stuck on an island" thread)

Out of the main five (assuming I can't get rid of characters like Scrappy) I'd say Daphne is who I'd get rid of. Although I'd only do it if 1. I had to or 2. It benefited the story (As with Daphne not really being part of the group in early Season 2 of SD:MI.

None of them to be honest. I mean, I can still like a series without Fred, Velma, and possibly Daphne, but it wouldn't work today. Everyone wants the gang together. Wow, you guys really hate that bugger don't you? I never really hated Scrappy, and he's gone now and will possibly never return anyway ('cept to get made fun of). Flim-Flam, on the other hand, I can do without.

Or at least as a kid that's when I noticed the beginning. Snarf from the original Thundercats, Slimer from the real Ghostbusters, Oroko from the original He-Man and so on. In moderation they can be fine, but when they start dominating, look out.

True, I see your point. A lot of shows seem to do that. (Dil and Kimi from Rugrats, Poof from Fairly OddParents, just to name a few)
But Scrappy by himself never really bothered me. In fact, I still liked the shows without Fred, Velma, and Daphne (though I think it was great they brought Daphne back later), though I will admit the ones with just him, Shaggy and Scooby are the weakest when it comes to the original shows.

I never hated Scrappy as a kid (no idea how I'd feel about him now), but he's really the least useful character of what could be considered immediate cast (I'm counting him since he was feature heavily in the past).

Take Velma out and give her a show with HDW? ;D That aside you could make a case for getting rid of each one of them depending on the era of the show. The shows adapted to the characters who were there, minus Ferd and Velma they became more slap-stick and random in how stuff got solved, the few I've seen the solutions appeared by accident than design as they lacked Velma to do the heavy lifting on the clue solving and Fred to do the plans/traps.
Scrappy was like giving a cook one condiment (say Worcestershire sauce) and having them use it everywhere and on everything.

I never disliked Flim Flam or Scrappy. Except for Scrappy in "Scooby-Doo" (live-action) that is.

Take Velma out and give her a show with HDW? I'd watch it. Though I'd give them one other person to make a full team.
