Some great info here! Just wanted to add that the heavily shoulder-padded robot designs seem to have influenced Warhammer 40k fans along with Jin Roh fans. It seems like this episode created a short-lived boom of Scooby/40k/Jin Roh fanart that I still see referenced to this very day (literally). This may have also been a minor catalyst leading up to the creation of Scooby Apocalypse, too. Some examples, none of which are mine but can be sourced by doing a reverse-image search:

Those miniatures (unpainted) can actually be purchased at Hasslefree Miniatures. Spendy with international shipping and all, but pretty unique. They have the classic gang too, without weapons and such.

This episode caught me off-guard because Daphne slaps Fred... hard! Like, whaaat? That would NOT be okay at all if you were to reverse the genders. I get that it's supposed to be in good fun, though. I feel for Fred in this episode. He tries.

This was definitely a statement episode. When I first watched it, I didn't like this episode as much because Cassidy's death made me sad, but I can appreciate this episode a lot more because it was willing to do something like that despite how sad it was, if that makes sense. It adds a new layer of higher stakes than the series already had
