I picked the New Scooby Doo Mysteries because I really loved the series.

At this point all I care is its a season. We haven't had a release in ages. I am hoping for one next month. Preferabbly Scooby Doo Show season 2 or Scrappy that is a large set.

I've wondered why all 24 episodes of The New Scooby Doo Movies can be shown on Boomerang but only some of those are on DVD ("Best of The New Scooby Doo Movies", with the omitted episodes due to "clearance issues").

This may have something to do with it. I don't know the exact details, but apparently there is a difference between broadcast rights and distribution (sales) rights. I was reading something awhile back that discussed why one of the early Pink Panther movies was omitted from the "complete" DVD set, and it had something to do with the studio not retaining the distribution rights to that particular movie when the contracts were signed. (Maybe because in the days before VCR/DVD no one thought it was all that important.) It may be that some of the real-life artists didn't agree to subsequent distribution when they contracted to do the show. Just a guess. I've heard a few other theories...and I have a hunch some episodes were omitted for different reasons than others...but this is something I just found out about recently. Mark

Back to the original question, my first reaction is either the missing "New Movies", or all 8 episodes from the Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Show 2nd season including the 4 unreleased Dynomutt episodes. However, I'm going to also vote for the New Scooby-Doo Mysteries, only because they're currently not easy to assemble as a complete set yourself from either DVRing or download.
Ideally though I think they should go back and reissue the missing episodes from those earlier DVD sets. It's not like HB never reissues old stuff in new unique packages. If they can reissue the original 2 seasons of SDWAY? in half a million different combinations, I don't see why they can't release an 8 episode set of missing stuff.

Mark And in the case of, say, the Addams Family episode, it's kinda a 60's Batman type situation. Where one studio owns the show, but another owns the characters{or at least that's my guess as to why it was omitted from the DVD}.

I'd love to have the SD Specials released on a DVD.

I've also read that some of the episodes featuring musicians who performed original music for the episode...like the Jerry Reed ep...might not have been included due to additional rights/royalty issues related to the song/performance. It would be sad if they can't release these on DVD because the people that agreed to do the show want money or own part of the copyrights. I think if they agreed to do the show, then WB should own the rights to the entire thing. Why does money always have to be an issue?
