Nice find. I love how mystery inc touches topics and goes "places" prior Scooby shows didn't or couldn't, and it does so with an aura of Dark Maturity and sharp whit. Since the show's creators keep mystery inc seperate from past history, it allows them to play with concepts, characters and expectations and turn them on their heads.

Rather the opposite of shows like The A-Team where each week huge quantities of small-arms ordinance would be expended without even a mild flesh wound being incurred by either side.

I don't think having someone die is all that dark. People die. It's a fact of life that no one gets out alive.
In my opinion that actually makes the show a little better.

Any time a children's television show doesn't treat children like idiots and deems them capable of handling older concepts I think it's great.
