Hi gang,
I'm looking at buying some of the Scooby Doo direct to video cartoon movies and was wondering your opinions on Blu Ray vs DVD.
With cartoons do you think it's worth paying the extra for Blu Ray or does DVD look just as good?
Does anyone know if there are any different or extra features on the Scooby cartoon Blu Rays than the DVD's?
Thanks much for the input!

Newer cartoons, I'd say yes, because pretty much anything is produced in HD these days. Something like Scooby Doo and the Cyber Chase, I'm not so sure. I haven't seen that one myself but from what I hear, it's not much of a improvement.
As for the other animated Scooby movies on Blu, I'd say if you can get them for a good price, get Aloha Scooby Doo and Camp Scare. They do look better than the DVDs. No exclusive features sadly.

Thanks much for the input. I went out and bought Aloha Scooby Doo. I didn't realize it when I bought it, but, it came with both dvd and blu-ray discs so I got to compare.
Both formats are very watchable. To me it seemed that the sound was better on the blu-ray and the picture was amazingly crisp and sharp. The colors were much more vibrant and the picture had more depth.
I'll be buying blu-ray for all of the new releases.

Camp scare is stunning on Bluray and it has the first episode of mystery Inc included as a bonus...which makes my desire for the series to get a bluray release even greater!

I don't have a Blu-ray player, but I've been buying the Blu-ray+DVD combos.

I figure eventually I will get one, so buying the Blu-ray+DVD combos are the best bet for the future.

It is a good plan. I was doing that before I got my first bluray player.

I have a blu-ray player because my DVD player died and we figured it was time to get the blu-ray.

I don't have a Blu-ray player Me either. Same here, though Santa might bring one this Christmas.
