On Scoobypedia, a site you may all be familiar with, there was an article about a man named Ed Machine, who was the CEO of Destroido corporation, from "When the Cicada Calls", who, if you'll recall, was attacked by Grandma Moonbeam's cicada swam on the golf course. Apparently, a poster says he's Mr. E's henchman as well. When I compare the two, they do look alike. I wonder if this is true, and if so, I wonder how and where is the connection? It doesn't seem to make any sense...

Kind to think of it, recall when Shaggy almost ate those two notes from Mr. E in the box of Nature Slivers. I wondered how Mr. E knew which box Shaggy would pick. It's certainly possible Ed Machine could've "arranged" for Shaggy to get the aforementioned box. Scoobypedia also speculated that the henchman himself is Mr. E, and he certainly has the resources to pull it, and just about anything else off. Curiouser and curiouser...

Hm. I appear for the moment to be the only one contributing to this thread. Oh well, after reviewing "When the Cicada Calls" and "Where Walks Aphrodite", I checked the voice credits for both men, and yes sir and ma'am, both men are indeed named Ed Machine, with the same voice actor. There's no doubt, then: Ed Machine is Mr. E's henchman, and the CEO of Destroido Corporation. Now what?

I'm puzzled by something in episode 20 (spoiler).
Why didn't they recognize Ed Machine at the press conference? If they did, they chose not to speak about it. One would think they would appeal to him as the "associate of Mr. E." in trying to get permission to investigate a mystery on the old abandoned oil platform.
I'm guessing they didn't recognize him in this new context, under different lighting (he was backlit in the Aphrodite encounter).

Thank God you've saved me from thinking that, too! ;D I have absolutely no idea, either. Can I use that explanation, too? Better yet, let me hide behind you and cover myself if we're both wrong... ;D

Welcome to the forum, rocksunner!! Thanks, ScoobyAddict. Spoilers from 21: Ed Machine appears completely subservient to Mr. E, guarding his door at night. This is not the normal behavior of a CEO. I'm starting to think my robot theory is correct -- that Ed Machine is a robot belonging to Mr. E. He apparently shrugged off the cicada attack in no time, with no indication he even went to the hospital. If the CEO is a stand-in, who does that make the real CEO of Destroido? Looks like it's Mr. E!

Spoilers for episode 26:
If he's not a robot, I think we've seen the last of Mr. Ed Machine. Pericles can only mean to seriously disable him (or kill him) to "send a message" to Ricky without words. But I think that's too extreme for a children's cartoon, so what may have actually happened is that Pericles zapped him electronically in order to reprogram him. That could really send a message to Mr. E, and bypass his security as well.

Or you know he died offscreen. The suits seem to let the writers get away with a lot of stuff including getting two teens temporarily engaged and almost ready to marry.
