A recent interview with the creator of American Dad has revealed that the show will be airing a Scooby-Doo themed Halloween special this year. The episode is titled "Z.O.I.N.C.S." and will air on Monday, October 30 at 9:00pm central on TBS, according to The Futon Critic. Here's the quote from the interview talking about the episode: "We have a fantastic Halloween episode, where the family dresses up in Scooby-Doo outfits and ends up discovering that Stan is missing. And so, as the Scooby-Doo gang, they try to find him. Klaus is Scooby and Jeff is Shaggy and Steve is Velma. They look so good and we did wonderful music that sounds so much like the Scooby-Doo score. We recorded it in mono. It's really going to be fun for the audience." www.awn.com/animationworld/epochal-success-and-inexhaustible-creativity-american-dad

I’ve never watched that show, but always excited about Scooby being implemented into other shows.

So, the episode aired and it was pretty fun for the most part. A bit darker humor, but that's to be expected from something like American Dad. Sort of similar to Scoobynatural from a few years ago, though I think I enjoyed this one more, possibly because I watched several episodes of this show while I never watched a full episode of Supernatural.
They did a pretty good job at mimicking and mocking some of the Scooby tropes, like how to open a secret passage or making a potentially lethal trap to catch the villain. It's silly but my favorite bit was probably coming up with an actual acronym for "Zoinks" (though spelled with a "c" instead of a "k", but whatever), which also fits in rather well with the Scooby genre.

That was a funny episode! I do enjoy a good Scooby-Doo spoof, and I especially liked the background music mimicking Ted Nichols's classic Scooby-Doo background score, and the spoofs of the Season 2 bubblegum rock chase songs. And the fact that it's a Halloween episode makes it even better!
