So the other day I learned that Night of 100 Frights had a canceled PS1 version. I looked at all the documents and watched all the videos on it to learn more. To my surprise it was a completely different game than the final version that came out years later, being more of a racing game than a platformer. What really intrigued me was that it more lived up to the title than the released version with a whopping total of 91 different enemies. Since I could only find one document that tried to identify all the monsters, and it only IDed some, I took it upon myself to go through all the sources and try to put a name all 91. I wasn't completely successful but (I think) I got about 90% of them. Interestingly enough, some weren't even monsters. They were just suspects, and not even the culprit.
Anyway I compiled the list into this word document that I put on Google Drive so everyone can access it and maybe even ID the ones I missed. I hope you all find this as interesting as I did. I grew up with the PS2 version so it was neat to see all the enemies that got cut from the final version.
Here's the link to the document: docs.google.com/document/d/1yZXGg6xnvJYhZJIX7C2K2p1877ZbFz70/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=105877226130673738933&rtpof=true&sd=true
P.S. I'm notoriously incompetent with technology, so if the link doesn't work let me know and I'll see what I can do.

This is a really neat list! Thanks for compiling and sharing it. I think #86 is the Devil Hound from "The Warlock of Wimbledon."

I completely forgot about the Devil Hound! Time to update the list.

Cool to see someone put together a full list of the monsters with most of them identified. Some rather obscure ones in there I didn't know, though I do love how much variety there is even if its a bit odd suspects are included too. Its the completely opposite of the final roster of monsters in the final game, where there its a lot more curated and a best of for the most part.
Makes me want to boot up the prototype again in an emulator and see if I can try get more of them to spawn. As I found when I played it which monsters spawn seemed to differ when playing the same level. Unsure if it was simply a case of them randomizing slightly (within a set list of monsters for that level) each time you played a level or if taking different paths in a level spawned different monsters. Though a bit hard to check when the protype crashes so much haha.
