Hello to everyone, this is a subject my posting history well reveals i am a major nerd for. I've had this idea a couple times in the past, but the events of this past week have made me think about more seriously then before. As in a lot of cases when you try to research about Cartoon Network's history where you go online can give you widely different interpretations and in some cases straight up different "facts" on the subject. As such i did my own search and i there really seems to be no easy to find wall of text that explains the subject and all it's parts in a neutral stance. I'm inclined to think given the fact that we nearly lost one of the only archives to some of that history this year, i feel this might be needed more than ever. With so many older sites and forums non existent i imagine it really is hard for newcomers to "do the research themselves".
Sadly i don't think it would be welcomed in other sites that have literally been repeating 20 year old pr spin and narratives out of 2002-2004 web forums. But that is the thing this essay would primarily wish to challenge. Try to be fair to everyone, not sway the history to benefit the things i like best. For example not making any executive the hero or monster of the story, but explaining why they think like they did and why they clashed with each other.
If people would be interested, I would gladly do it with some help where needed. As i'm not ashamed to say given the network was such an influence on me, i spent a lot of time as an adult trying to learn more about the behind the scenes stuff. I know i've had many posts on here where i show bits of that knowledge off, but i've never tried to write a whole comprehensive essay version of it.
My big question though, is where should it be hosted? I love ScoobyAddicts here but is that the appropriate place for such an essay? Would a different proboard forum for this subject be better? I know some of my fellow users here have been running fansites for years. How does that work for you guys/girls? Would that be a better option? Maybe a blog? I'm interested in hearing suggestions about this.
If anyone has any general interest in reading such a post, i'd also love to hear things you are confused about that you'd hope an essay like this would answer. Anyone who is an old timer (aka was watching the network since it's early days) that can help me remember some parts that might have slipped my brain would also be welcome to contribute.

I think it would be totally fine to host the essay here! Creating a Cartoon Network fansite could also be a good idea, but if you were wanting more interactivity for the article, I think a blog would be a great way to get feedback/interaction on your essay. I have liked Weebly for blogging, and I also have friends who have said good things about the blogs on Blogspot and Wix. You could also feel free to link the site/blog you create in a post on here so that more people would see it.

I agree with Doo that a blog may be your best option. You could post the link here and then anyone that wants to share it can also share it on their socials. You could make other blog entries to elaborate on things or make separate entries to break things down and your info won’t get lost in a sea of comments.
You could post the whole essay on this forum if you want, I just think it might limit your audience because people wouldn’t expect to find that on a Scooby forum.

Thank you to both of you for the offer and advice. This will take some decent time to write, so i also have decent time to think about where to host it.
I am inclined to think if it aims to be neutral it should be hosted on just a small place on its own, and then linked into other places to spread it around. I just have to decide which base serves this project best. There's no reason though once that's done it can't be cross-posted to sites like this.

If you need any input for the late '90s era, I can provide a lot of information. Most of my intro to Scooby was through recorded tapes of early Cartoon Network which I watched hundreds of times as a kid. This also reminds me that I'd like to do an essay on Heather North. There's not a lot about her online even though she started her career starring with KURT RUSSELL! There's a lot to her story that I'd like to compile and share.

Thank you Ark. That is another good idea. So many things aren't well documented on the internet. Especially in some cases when old fansites stop existing.
I've still been mulling over the idea. I have a lot on my plate currently, so i have mostly been thinking about it more than actually doing anything on it.
