Which episodes do you feel don't get the acclaim they deserve, in the original series? I've gone for 1 episode per Season, just to make it fair.
1. Never Ape an Ape Man This is definitely a hard one to defend, outright, but I honestly believe that "Ape" is a really fun episode that doesn't deserve to be right at the bottom of most people's lists. It's incredibly daft for sure but there's a lot about the mystery that works, for me. The setting of the mansion/movie set is a winner and I love all the different nooks and crannies that the gang explore - Script writing room, pool hall, basement and movie trailers. The Ape-Man isn't the greatest foe and the perpetrator is far too easy to guess but I always have a great time with this one and don't think it's bottom of the barrel, unlike most.
2. Don't Fool with a Phantom This is an easier one to justify because I genuinely think "Fool" is a truly fantastic episode of the show. It barely gets a look-in when most talk about their favourite episodes and just seems to get kinda forgotten, it seems. The Wax Phantom is a truly creepy foe with a haunting moan. The mystery is a simple one but it definitely makes a great deal of sense and the setting of the wax museum is a winner (especially when they go down to the wax works). This one just keeps creeping up my rankings and may be the most underrated of the whole show.
Let's hear yours!

I think Decoy For a Dognapper deserves some more credit even if I DO think it is one of the weakest of the series. I still enjoy the early spy kind of feel, which only became common in the 80s era I also agree with the two you said, but there is one that really stands above the rest: Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Werewolf. One of what feels like are the forgotten episode with Don’t Fool with a Phantom. But I always enjoyed Werewolf’s atmosphere and settings. One of my favorites of season 2. Probably 3rd behind Hyde and Hang Up, and just ahead of Phantom and Creeper

It's funny that you bring this up because I was just thinking about this recently, with all the "reused" villains. I'll definitely echo "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Werewolf" and "Don't Fool with a Phantom." Those episodes are rarely talked about when favorites are discussed, and whenever old Where Are You villains make cameos, it's never either of those two. I guess with the werewolf it makes a little sense because we already have the Wolfman from "A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts," which is talked about, but it still surprises me to this day that the Wax Phantom has never made a cameo given how many monster cameos there have been in recent years.

Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Werewolf is definitely another great shout. It does get a lot of love when it's brought up ... but it's never brought up much at all. It's up there with Haunted House Hang-Up as the most atmospheric episode of Season 2.

I do really love those 2 episodes as well. They deserve more love but at the same time, it is kinda neat that they are classic episodes that are relatively obscure to find and seeing them for the first time in a deeper dive

Ghost ship is actually really fun and adventurous, but since it's a pirate who gets reused in later episodes and was on VHS, I know I overplayed it as a kid and got bored of it.

Yeah, Go Away Ghost Ship is a pretty overshadowed episode. Red Beard is iconic to the series but the episode itself somehow isn't.
