I revisited this whole season recently and I've got to say - I think I underappreciated some of the episodes. It certainly has a different feel to S1 & S2, perhaps more lighter in tone with a larger emphasis on hijinks, rather than actual mystery solving. One thing I've always enjoyed is the globetrotting aspect of this Season, as it sees the gang explore just about everywhere, while still having quite a few more low-key outings in the States.
S3 may still be my least favourite of the Series but not by nearly as big a margin as I previously thought. Some episodes like "A Scary Night with a Snow Beast Fright" & "Jeepers, it's the Jaguaro" are still bottom of the barrel for me, and not ones I'll be returning to, anytime soon. With that said, I've also found real value in most of the other eps and "To Switch a Witch" will always be one of my all-time favourites.
I wouldn't say this season is particularly underrated, since it is clear the writers were running low on ideas, throughout, but was just wondering what your thoughts were overall? And whether you've grown to respect it more, in recent years? (Or maybe the opposite)
Ps. I absolutely love the underscore for this season ... So much nostalgia!

I agree that this is a great season with a different feel than season 1 or season 2. I definitely appreciate some episodes, but some of the hijinks felt like they distracted from the main mystery a bit too much at times in certain episodes. I also liked the globetrotting aspect though.

I consider this season to be weaker than the seasons before and the first season of Scrappy Doo. It is just far weaker in terms of plots overall. The monster game didn't take a step down with Iron Face and Tar Monster being CLASSIC villains despite their episodes being average and nothing special. The biggest exceptions are A Menace in Venice and To Switch a Witch which are both excellent episodes. There are also duds in here like Watch Out the Willawaw which is my least favorite episode of the first three series and basically just changed the setting and monsters from Curse of Viking Lake and copied the rest of the plot of that episode. Overall an enjoyable season, but a clear step down as they were running out of ideas

Even the locations aren't that dissimilar.

Even the locations aren't that dissimilar. Completely agreed. And part of the reason I am low on it is because I do LOVE Curse of Viking Lake. But Willawaw just doesn't have the charm that Viking Lake has for me personally And, out of the first three series, my second least favorite is Mystery in Persia, but at least that episode was ambitious and tried to do something even if it ended up being very confusing and boring, so that is why i prefer that to Willawaw

This season was better than some later reincarnations. I personally prefer seasons 1 and 2 of the Scooby Doo Show over this one. They need to release seasons 1 and 2 on bluray!

Just meh. Better than the WB incarnations but not as good as the 1983-85 series.
