Both of these episodes usually rank pretty near the bottom in their season and a have a hulking brute as the main villain. Which episode is your personal favourite between the 2?
I've always had a nostalgic soft spot for "Frozen Fright" since I had it on a Christmas VHS. It's as daft we heck but I actually think it's an underrated episode, overall.

It's tough to choose since most episodes are above these two for me, but I would say "Scooby's Night with a Frozen Fright" is slightly better! I really like the setting of that episode a little better than the Ape Man one (even though I do like the movie set too).

I prefer Never Ape an Ape Man personally. Scooby’s Night With a Frozen Fright has always been the most forgettable episode of the series for me. While I do like it, that is enough to put it towards the bottom of my episodes for this series. The same could honestly be said about Never Ape an Ape Man, yet I find myself remembering about this episode a bit more. I like both but neither are superb for me

I do like Never Ape an Ape Man but not to the extent of Frozen Fright. Caveman isn't the most original villain but it fits Frozen Fright. Apeman does feel similar to Chiller Diller how it takes place on a movie set but the Apeman is a bit bland.

Sure, "Frozen Fright" is an iconic episode, but "Never Ape an Ape Man" is more fun and silly! A gorilla suit can be kind of a plain type of disguise, and it was easy to figure out the Ape Man's true identity, but I really enjoy movie set plots, and we got plenty of fun stuff to make up for it, like the introduction of a "Shaggy Snack," a mansion set with lots of secret openings and a slide staircase, the "Stick 'em up! What's the password?" parrot, and the Ape Man disguising as Scooby-Doo to pull a mirror routine on him (but since he only had a rubber mask on, it's no wonder Scooby thought something was suspicious about his "reflection"), something I even recreated with greenscreen effects and some of my costuming/disguise skills!
And we get to see Shaggy and Scooby having fun dressing up, including with the aforementioned Scooby mask.

Ape Man because I liked the plot more and the atmosphere. I liked seeing one of the Scooby Gang's relatives for a change.
