Someone on Twitter pointed out that CN has been the last great place for original programming because WB Animation handles all the reboots. I'm not a fan of the current era of CN but it would be a shame to lose that and have the channel become dominated by pre-existing IP because of the merger.

I doubt they'd end them completely, however the brutal truth is if they level the playing field it is going to expose which properties are actually more popular than one another. We'll see which the systems that are have been hurting and which they have been helping. Anyone who thinks their section of the library is the real most popular, they should be seeing this as a chance to prove their point.
It goes without saying though, the reason WB Animation and CN Studios are so different in their approaches in original vs pre-existing is because of the 2001 split. As such some of us think we need them both as apart of the new organization. But if when we actually have all the new shows and reboots treated equally by the channel if one area performs better than the other, yes I expect they will get more orders on any given season. But as new fans come in those lines can easily shift.

The big news this week is that AT&T is selling Crunchyroll to Sony. However I wanted to try and find out for sure if this is a sale of just Crunchyroll the streaming service or Crunchyroll INC that includes the streaming service, VRV, the animation studio, etc.
As I predicted earlier this isn't surprising, given we know AT&T probably doesn't want the other streaming services. DC Universe and Boomerang are populated almost entirely by things WB owns, Crunchyroll is populated by mostly things WB doesn't own. It was the only one they could make money off selling.
While it is a minor footnote given most Crunchyroll originals aren't even owned and made by them, if AT&T is keeping the studio, expect it to be folded into WB Animation sooner or later. Or if it's sold, it's sold. (Mind you none of the crunchyroll originals they own are either on Toonami or HBO Max, so it's not like they'd be losing anything major.)
It will be interesting though if the relationship disintegrates if the Japansese companies will jump ship to only working with Sony or WB. But as of right now the Adult Swim people don't seem too upset about this being a relationship problem so far.
