This was a pretty good Winter-y episode, though IMO the plot execution here wasn't perfect and there were aspects that could have been handled much better.
I found the ice/winter jokes at the beginning to be painfully unfunny, and the fact that they just went on and on only annoyed me further. The main issue I had with the episode though, is the Daphne du Jour. Personally, the whole plotline of Daphne wanting to blow the vault didn't really make sense in the first place. If Daphne wanted her necklace back, couldn't she have simply asked her mother nicely and explained why she felt the necklace wasn't safe at the hotel, rather than going through all the trouble to come up with a "heist" and committing multiple illegal acts in the process? Besides that piece of the plot not making sense, Daphne's character seemed very off to me. Daphne is easily the most caring, empathetic person in the gang, and for her to sneak around behind the gang's back and repeatedly lie to them about her motivations regarding the vault doesn't seem like the Daphne which had been established in the rest of the series.
However, I did enjoy the rest of the episode for the most part. I enjoyed the mystery and the reimagining of "Scooby's Night with a Frozen Fright" from SDWAY, and the caveman's design was very cool. The humor in this one was also slightly less enjoyable for me, particularly the callback to the gang all falling down on the ice from "Be Cold, Scooby-Doo." The joke was already not funny to me after the first two or three times in "Be Cold," so continuing to repeat it in this episode over and over made it even less funny. Shaggy and Scooby teaching the ice man to talk was definitely my favorite part of the whole episode. I was practically on the floor laughing when the Ice Man triumphantly announced "My name is Ice Man! My name is Ice Man!" Although I must admit it (though still amusing) it was kinda sad when Shaggy and Scooby tricked the monster and ran away! He worked so hard lol!
Overall, a mediocre episode that was just lackluster in execution, mainly due to the Daphne Du Jour piece of it.
And just a fun little fact, did anyone else notice how both episode 19's of the series, from season 1 (Be Cold, Scooby-Doo) and season 2 have to do with Winter/ice? Probably completely unintentional but I still thought it was interesting lol.
