Viva rock vegas? I remember liking that one. That was many moons ago though, maybe I should revisit.

Just watched this, and I have to say... I have mixed feelings about it. Having seen WrestleMania Mysterywhich gave the wrestlers the full glory and fame, I was kinda disappointed that the WWE superstars were presented like ordinary people who (maybe, as implied by Mr. McMagma) got later in the wrestling business. I haven't seen any Flintstones cartoons, I have only read comics that were sold in kiosks packed with two Scooby comics a few years back, so I can't tell if their new voices were good or bad. However, I don't think this movie made me eager to watch the original Flintstones show. In conclusion, a sort of decent movie. Good plot, but I didn't really see why they had to name it a WWE crossover, since the wrestlers were not in fact fighting, but just got muscles.
However, I did like the Undertaker, and hope to see him in the new Scooby WWE film coming out next year.

I finished watching this, and...wow...that was awful. The animation was terrible, and all the voices (except Fred's, which was OK) were really bad and I didn't feel they fit the characters at all. Barney's voice actor was the worst...so nasally and unnatural! I have heard the argument that it was modeled after Barney's Season 1 voice, but I've seen all the Season 1 episodes and to me, this new voice sounded nothing like that. None of the jokes were very funny, the only one I laughed at was Fred saying "it's finally time to fulfill my dream that I've had for over a week" (or something like that, I can't remember the exact quote anymore). And Barney saying "I'd have liked to see Wilma in that bikini!"....ew .... It was weird that the WWE superstars were just normal people. I also thought John Cena's entrance music was very out of place and they shouldn't have included it... I thought this was very untrue to the original series and was a disgrace to the franchise. I was shocked to see Tony Cervone worked on this...I would have expected so much better from him! Sorry to be so negative here, but I really hated this movie. I've seen all 166 episodes and a lot of the revival movies and this was crap compared to those... I hope the Scooby/WWE 2 is better than this one! **crosses fingers**

However, I don't think this movie made me eager to watch the original Flintstones show. I don't think this is anything like what the original series is. They have some episodes that remind me of Scooby (not so much the mystery solving aspect but the supernatural element of it)...the one's that come to mind are "Monster Fred," "A Haunted House is not a Home," "Dr. Sinister" and "The Gruesomes." They all are on KissCartoon, I'd suggest watching those if you want to get a real feel for what the original Flintstones series is like (not all of the episodes are supernatural though, a lot of them have to do with real-world problems that the characters face).

I strongly disagree with some of that from the historical standard. As some of the stuff is highly representative of years of Flintstones history.
However on two points:
1. On the voice, yes Barney voice is nasally because that is how Mel Blanc originally did it before his car accident. It's also the same voice he got in On the Rocks, why they kept using that is a mystery to me. I would recommend re-watching season one episodes if you don't remember that Blanc voice.
2. What do you mean by "It was weird that the WWE superstars were just normal people." is that a complaint that they weren't celebrities in the movie? Or that the movie went with a more realistic approach in admitting that most of the matches aren't real. In comparison to the Scooby movie which more or less took it real (in wrestling terms kayfabe)
if it's the former, it's more of less yet another ode, As a few times they had celebrity guests or impressions they weren't treated as celebrities either, just normal people that got involved in the plot.

As I said in my post above, I've seen all the Season 1 episodes at least 10 times and remember Mel Blanc's Barney voice from that season well, but in my opinion they didn't sound similar. I've never seen On the Rocks so I don't know how the voices compare in that one. 2. What I meant was that I expected the WWE stars to be famous like they were in the Scooby/WWE crossover (in this movie they were just normal people). I wasn't saying that I didn't like that they weren't famous, it was just that I wouldn't have expected it.

I was just curious because I had heard that phrasing before but I wasn't sure what it meant. As yes in the Scooby movie they were world known, but in the Flintstones ones just regular people. I didn't want to assume it was one way when it could have been meant in a different light. As in another case I saw a mention that because they openly had at first that the wrestlers were only pretending to fight instead of actually fighting made them not seem real. Even though of course pro wrestling is just theatrics.
