Boomerang announced a few days ago that they would not be airing their normal Halloween lineup this year, which includes The Munsters, 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, Funky Phantom, and Goober and the Ghost Chasers. However, they said they will continue to air What's New and Where Are You every day.

That's ridiculous! Boomerang's pretty much lost its usefulness to me. If they removed it from our satellite lineup I wouldn't be upset any more.

Thought about adding Boomerang to my channels. They made the decision for me...

I think part of the problem is that Halloween traditions are disappearing anyway. A lot of Halloween programming has just faded away. A lot of people are not decorating for Halloween, you never get the same amount of kids trick or treating as you used to and I'm prety sure I heard last year on the news that candy and costume sales have dropped in the last 3 years. This can be cured, just unplug those computers and video games and send the kids out trick or treating.

Halloween has never had that much traction in the UK despite the efforts of marketeers and ad-men. There are a few more pumpkins in the shops, some fancy-dress and the odd themed shows on TV but not much else.

Interestingly enough I live in a suburb/city limits hybrid area. And as i've grown up I've seen the Halloween decorating/festive things drop a lot over the years. However last year I spent Halloween evening working in the city. The ammount of kids I saw on my ride home, really surprised me. I feel like the Halloween tradition has just gone into clusters these days. Some places still treat it big, others don't really at all.
Boomerang's changes still irk me. But eh. Che sera sera.

Yeah, sad also b/c CN isn't showing a lot either. I remember until after 2004, Scooby-Doo was CN's Halloween spokes-toon. But then beginning in 2005, "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy" took over as being CN's Halloween spokes-toon. It sure sucked. We still have Halloween where I live, but I won't be doing anything Scooby-related except maybe watching some good old Halloween-related Scooby-Doo stuff (like the Ghoul School movie!) I'm going to dress up as Disney's Big Bad Wolf!

I'd still be game for a switch over when it comes to the channels. But still not sure how to get that rolling.
